This morning, I began my walk with the wind at my back. It was easy. Comfortable.
Then I turned around.
The wind met me head-on.
Suddenly, each step required a little more presence. I had to organize myself differently. Yet on this hot day, that same wind felt cool and refreshing against my skin.
What first appeared to be resistance became relief.
It reminded me of what we often experience in Fascia Yoga.
At first, there may be resistance. Sensations may arise. The impulse may be to pull away.
But when we stay with the experience—meeting it directly with pressure, breath, and awareness rather than force—the fascia often begins to respond.
What felt like resistance transforms into release. What felt stuck begins to move.
The wind didn’t stop me from moving forward. It simply invited me to organize differently.
The body does the same.
Sometimes the very thing we resist is the thing that brings the greatest sense of ease when we’re willing to turn toward it.
