LipiFlow is one of the best-known in-office treatments for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). It helps, but it's only a one-time reset. It doesn't touch the inflammation, Demodex, or weak blink mechanics that caused the glands to clog in the first place.

In this blog, we walk through why OptiLIGHT IPL + OptiLIFT target and treat those upstream causes better than LipiFlow.

If you've been researching Photofacials in NYC, you've probably noticed that you can get them just about anywhere at this point – med spas, aesthetics studios, dermatology chains and so on.

The pitch is consistent: IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) reduces redness, clears uneven skin tone, smooths texture, and fades visible blood vessels.

All of that is true: Photofacials can meaningfully improve how your skin looks *and* effectively treat dry eye. 💡✅

What the med spa blogs and brochures don't tell you is that where you get this treatment done matters quite a bit.

Skip the med spa and maximize the aesthetic benefits of IPL while eliminating the possibility of lackluster care or safety. Plus… it costs the same. By Craig Moskowitz, MD

This story be a little esoteric for most people, but it's too interesting not to share...

Last Summer, one of our TikToks inexplicably went viral. We usually received 1,000-2,000 views for most of our educational LASIK/ASA videos, but this one skyrocketed to 2 MILLION within just a couple weeks (it now has 3.1 million views).

How and why this happened taught us a lot about social media virality and tracking, and reaffirmed even more about the dialogue happening across the social web about laser vision correction.

Hope you find it interesting! https://moskowitz-eye.com/blog/going-viral-lasik-tiktok

So it turns out the may not be the future of digital connection after all...

From an eye care perspective, it's probably a good thing this $80B 💸 investment didn't quite pan out!

Here's a blog from the archives (February 2022).

Call it what you want – the rise of The Metaverse , Virtual Reality , Phygital Experiences, or Web 3.0 will pose major problems to your eyes in real life. By Dr. Craig Moskowitz

The makers of Miebo and Xdemvy have spent millions on national campaigns advertising their products. And they're memorable spots, too! Chances are we’ll see one of these during the Super Bowl.

So how do Miebo and Xdemvy compare to our new in-office OptiLIGHT™ treatment? I explain in this new blog:
