Motive breast implant factory visit in Costa Rica
Motiva is the newest FDA approved breast implant in the United States. Since its initial approval about two years ago, our clinic has been using it almost exclusively for breast augmentation due to its low capsule contracture rate. So far, uniformly patients have high satisfaction rate, especially combined with our scarless transaxillary approach of hiding the scar in the armpit crease.
This past weekend, Dr. Lao was invited along with other surgeons from the USA to visit Motiva’s factory in Costa Rica. It was definitely an eye opening experience to see how each Motiva implant was hand made from the very initial shell dipping to the patch attachment and final gel filling. Definitely also interesting to see some of the up-and-coming technologies that will hopefully soon come to the USA in the future for breast beautification.
The most important session for me was really looking at the scientific data and see the much lower capsule contracture rate and rupture rate Motiva can provide to our patients when compared to other available implants! Always strive for Safety First!
Motiva 魔滴隆乳植入物工廠參訪（哥斯大黎加）
Motiva 是目前美國最新獲得 FDA 核准的乳房植入物。自約兩年前取得 FDA 核准後，我們診所因其較低的莢膜攣縮（capsular contracture）發生率，目前在隆乳手術中幾乎都是以 Motiva 為主。
到目前為止，患者整體的滿意度都非常高，尤其是搭配我們的無疤腋下內視鏡隆乳手術（scarless transaxillary approach），將疤痕隱藏在腋下皺褶中，能達到更加自然、美觀的效果。
上個週末，駱醫師受邀與其他來自美國的整形外科醫師，一同參訪 Motiva 位於哥斯大黎加的製造工廠。這次參訪真的是一次非常開眼界的經驗，親眼看到每一顆 Motiva 植入物，從最初的外殼浸模（shell dipping）、補片貼合（patch attachment），一直到最後的凝膠填充（gel filling），整個製作過程都是經過高度精密的人工製作與品質控管。
同時，也很有意思地看到了一些正在開發中的新技術。希望未來這些技術能夠很快引進美國，為乳房美型與隆乳手術帶來更多新的可能性。
對我而言，這次參訪最重要的部分，其實是深入了解 Motiva 的科學研究數據，並親自檢視其與其他目前市場上可使用的乳房植入物相比，在莢膜攣縮率與植入物破裂率方面更低的數據。
