"I'm not tired, I just look tired." It's a complaint I hear almost daily. The eyes are often the first area to signal fatigue and age, even when you feel vibrant and well-rested. Makeup often settles into the creases and contours, accentuating rather than disguising them. Most don't want to look different, they simply want to look refreshed and like themselves again.

This 48-year-old patient underwent an upper and lower blepharoplasty with autologous fat transfer to the lid-cheek junction. One of the reasons I love this procedure is that the transformation is subtle, elegant, and natural. Recovery is quick, and the response from friends and family is almost always the same: You look amazing...have you been sleeping more?

Refreshed, never "done."

How soon can you exercise after breast augmentation? Sooner than you think, but with a few important modifications:

Week 1: You’ll feel well enough, but take it slowly. Walking around the house and short walks outside are fine, but this is a crucial time to protect your results, minimize swelling, and let everything settle without stress.

Week 2 (Starting day 7): Light walking increases, and you can ease back into light activity, but nothing that strains your chest or feels like a real workout.

Day 14 through Week 4: This is when you can actually get back to the gym. Elliptical, stationary bike, treadmill, and longer walks are encouraged. Light core, air squats, and lunges are fine. The key is still avoiding any chest activation or high-impact cardio.

Weeks 4–6: Gradual progression. You can build intensity and start working your way back toward your normal routine, but still be mindful of pec muscle activation and high impact.

6 weeks and beyond: Most are ready to return to full activity. Running, yoga, Pilates, push-ups, planks, and strength training.

Always listen to your body as you increase your activity. The take-home: a little discipline early on makes a big difference in the long run.

This 27-year-old woman felt she always had small breasts and wanted more fullness while still looking absolutely natural. We achieved that look through a transaxillary endoscopic approach, with an incision hidden in the underarm. If you find yourself searching for it in the after photos, you’re not alone!

Many women considering breast augmentation find themselves wondering about the specifics: implant type, incision, pocket placement, size. Those details matter, but not as much as your unique anatomy and preferences. When planning is individualized and technique is precise, those variables become far less important than overall balance and beauty.

This result is a testament to careful surgical planning and technique at every step: from precise endoscopic pocket creation (dual plane), to thoughtful implant size selection (150 cc), to implant selection (guess which type, I bet you can’t!), to meticulous closure designed to leave the most inconspicuous incision possible.

The most beautiful surgical outcomes are defined not by what you notice, but by what you don’t.

This is an example of one of the most common stories I encounter in my practice: this 39-year-old mother of four had done everything from diet to consistent workouts to specialized core physical therapy, all in the hopes of regaining her strength and contour after multiple pregnancies.

Despite her dedication, her diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation) persisted, causing both discomfort and self-consciousness. Through abdominoplasty and regional suction lipectomy (tummy tuck with liposuction), we restored her core integrity and helped her reclaim her pre-pregnancy silhouette.

Take a look at her after photos; this transformation is a reminder that plastic surgery isn't solely about aesthetics, but also about restoring function, strength, and confidence.

Allure: The Rise of the Over Forty Rhinoplasty

Thank you and for a beautifully researched and thoughtful feature on why more patients are seeking rhinoplasty in their forties and beyond. I was grateful to share my perspective on this meaningful shift.

As I noted in the article, many adults have simply “put it off for years,” and the decision to pursue refinement later in life often comes from a place of clarity and confidence. Modern rhinoplasty focuses on structure, support, and balance. For many, the most significant concern is avoiding an overdone look.

The beauty of contemporary technique is the ability to maintain “structural support, especially to reinforce weakened areas of cartilage,” and to approach refinement in a way that preserves identity and protects function. One of the greatest risks of any nose job is “looking like you have had one,” and that is exactly what thoughtful, conservative planning seeks to avoid.

Thank you to Allure and Jolene for spotlighting this evolution in care and for allowing me to help demystify the process for patients exploring rhinoplasty at this stage of life.

INSTANT JAWLINE
(watch Annie achieve a more defined jawline in minutes)

A non-surgical approach for a more defined jawline can be achieved within minutes using JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC, a crystal-clear, non-animal derived, hypoallergenic, FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler. This safe and effective treatment, when using the correct technique provides beautiful results with minimal bruising or downtime.

Results can last about a year. Wondering why some choose non-surgical options? They offer a quick and safe way to enhance features with less commitment. Many consider it a trial before opting for more permanent solutions like chin implant surgery.

Three Keys to Inconspicuous Incisions:

Achieving the most imperceptible incision lines is about much more than just stitching. It’s about strategy. Of course, surgical finesse is extremely important, but more importantly, it’s about achieving the right balance of skin tautness and softness while at the same time alleviating tension beneath the surface.

Adherence to a proper care protocol, including sun protection, topical silicone, and laser (when necessary) are great, but these are helpful finishing touches. Achieving the most beautiful incision lines is primarily about 1. thoughtful surgical planning, 2. alleviating tension beneath the surface and 3. meticulous surgical technique.

All of the examples you see in this video share the classic trio of breast lift incisions: around the ar**la, vertically down, and within the crease, often called the "Wise" pattern or inverted-T, demonstrated in the last static image.

There's something remarkable about subtle transformation. With the right implant choice and a thoughtful surgical plan, breast augmentation can enhance a patient's natural shape rather than alter it entirely.

This 27-year-old patient wasn't looking for a dramatic change. She wanted to maintain her proportions while adding volume, fullness, and gentle enhancement to her décolleté. Our shared goal was a result that felt both beautiful and natural, and the outcome exceeded her expectations.

There is no one-size-fits-all in the world of breast augmentation. While it's easy to get caught up in the hype around implant and pocket selection, it all boils down to anatomy, goals, and safety.

Deflation and diastasis (muscle separation) are so common after pregnancy. A “mommy makeover” is the familiar term for combining breast augmentation with a classical abdominoplasty, and in carefully selected patients these procedures can be safely and effectively performed in a single operation.

Breast augmentation restores volume, shape, and projection to the breasts, re-establishing balance and proportion. Abdominoplasty removes excess skin, repairs the re**us muscles, and restores a smooth, firm contour to the midsection. In this case, she had conservatively sized gel implants placed, and a tummy tuck with repositioning and recreation of the belly button. Try to spot the tiny beauty mark on the left of her midsection, it's a great example of how much skin is tailored and how the navel is restored to a beautiful, youthful position.

When combined, the effect is more than physical. Confidence, strength, and body harmony are restored. For this 34-year-old mother of two, the transformation meant not only feeling like herself again, but looking better than ever.
