Training and Research in Intersubjective Self Psychology TRISP is dedicated to providing training based on the theories of Intersubjective Self Psychology

The Training and Research in Self Psychology Foundation (TRISP) was founded in 1987 as the first Self Psychological training institute in the country. Its tradition of intellectual vitality in an empathic and supportive setting is built upon a theoretical foundation that comprises Self Psychology, Intersubjectivity theory, and Relational Theory. TRISP offers educational opportunities designed to a

ddress the interests of beginning students as well as advanced and senior clinicians. We offer continuing education programs and sponsor events throughout the year that focus on Self Psychology, Intersubjectivity, and psychoanalytic theory and practice. TRISP is an institutional member of IAPSP, the International Association of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology.

Licensed clinicians are welcome to apply to the Intersubjective Self Psychology Primer Program, a one-year program, which provides students with a thorough grounding in the basic concepts of Intersubjective Self Psychology.

Students who complete the one-year program are eligible to continue on to the ISP Study Group for deeper and on-going study of topics related to ISP.
