Martha is an internationally known, long-time Brainspotting Trainer, Specialty Workshop Presenter, and Consultant who has studied directly with Brainspotting's developer, Dr. David Grand, for over 25 years. Her specializations include: trauma & spirituality; bereavement/grief; creativity & performance enhancement; family & children's issues. Also a Lutheran pastor for over 45 years, Martha has ser

ved in congregations as well as Lutheran and Episcopal counseling agencies throughout the greater Metropolitan New York area. She is frequently sought out for spiritual direction / accompaniment by individuals of many faiths backgrounds. Martha is deeply committed to humanitarian service, did extensive trauma therapy in NYC after 9/11, and was an invited clinician supporting the Sandy Hook / Newtown CT communities after the school shooting there. She is a founding member of the Supervisory Board of Barainspotting Help. Martha has advanced training in Bowen family therapy, EMDR, and Pesso-Boyden System Psychomotor therapy. All of Martha's work is informed by her background as a performing artist in music and dance. She has numerous articles and chapters on published in both clinical and theological works; a book project on "Spiritual Frames" in Brainspotting is forthcoming.
