Finding a living kidney donor can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate the process alone. 🧡

Join the National Kidney Foundation for The Big Ask, The Big Give: Finding a Living Donor, a free, in-person program designed for people in need of a kidney transplant, their families, and anyone supporting someone through the transplant journey.

During the program, you’ll learn practical tools and strategies for sharing your story and finding a potential living donor. You’ll also hear firsthand experiences from living kidney donors and transplant recipients.

Join us for the 4th Annual Long Island Symposium, presented by Northwell Health, on Wednesday, October 14, for an evening of education, collaboration, and conversation around the latest advances in nephrology!

This year’s symposium, “Practical Approach to the Use of Novel Therapies in Nephrology,” will explore 2026 updates on SGLT-2s, GLP-1s, MRAs, and IgA Nephropathy, bringing together healthcare professionals for a dynamic discussion on evolving therapies and their application in kidney care.

Led by renowned experts Gerald B. Appel, MD, Co-Director and Founder of the Glomerular Kidney Disease Center at Columbia University Medical Center, and Glen Markowitz, MD, Professor of Pathology & Cell Biology at Columbia University Medical Center, this program will offer an in-depth, case-based look at the evaluation and management of glomerular disease.

This September, they're bringing back their annual Bowling & Karaoke Fundraiser in support of the New York City Kidney Walk! 💙

Running for something bigger. 🧡

Former college football player turned marathon runner Dwaine “DJ” Haskins found a deeper purpose in his miles when he qualified for the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon. Inspired by his uncle, David Rush, who lives with kidney disease and has become a dedicated advocate for kidney patients, DJ chose to use his journey to raise awareness and support the kidney community.

Together, DJ and David remind us of the power of family, advocacy, and turning a personal passion into a purpose.
