Repetitive throwing can put more than the elbow joint under stress.

The flexor mass, a group of forearm muscles and tendons that helps bend the wrist and fingers, can also be injured. Although rare, flexor mass tears are associated with overhead sports and may result from sudden injury or cumulative overuse.

Medial Epicondylitis (Golfer's Elbow) Specialist Are you experiencing pain or tenderness on the inside of the elbow which worsens with movement? Athletes and golfers can experience stiffness, tingling and weakness in the elbow, wrist and hand area from damage to tendons in the arm. Golfer’s elbow ...

Shoulder instability occurs when the structures responsible for keeping the shoulder joint in place become weakened or damaged.

A shoulder dislocation can stretch or tear the supporting ligaments. Damage to the labrum, the cartilage lining the shoulder socket, can further reduce stability.

When these structures are compromised, the shoulder may be more likely to partially or completely dislocate again.

Shoulder Dislocation and Subluxation Specialist Are you an athlete who participates in contact sports? If so, you may be at risk of sustaining a shoulder dislocation. A shoulder dislocation, also called shoulder subluxation can occur from a sports injury, traumatic blow to the shoulder or from conti...

Seeing a bone spur on your elbow X-ray doesn’t necessarily mean the spur is the problem.

Your symptoms and how well your elbow moves matter, too.

Bone spurs can sometimes contribute to a mechanical block, but other issues, such as loose bodies, inflammation, or cartilage damage, may also be affecting your elbow.

For the right patient, arthroscopy can help identify and directly address what’s causing the problem.

The goal is to help you move better, not just make the X-ray look better.

Elbow Arthroscopy Doctor Do you have osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease? Are you unable to bend or straighten your elbow due to stiffness or catching? If so, you may have bone spurs or osteophytes in your elbow. Elbow bone spurs, also called osteophytes can be caused by osteoarthritis, ove...

Knee arthritis doesn’t automatically mean a knee replacement.

There are multiple ways to manage arthritis, depending on the extent of joint damage and how much it affects your life.

Treatment may include exercise, physical therapy, activity modification, weight management, bracing, medications or injections.

For patients who continue to have significant symptoms despite nonsurgical care, surgical options range from cartilage procedures and osteotomy to partial or total knee replacement.

There is no one-size-fits-all treatment for an arthritic knee.

Knee Arthritis Specialist There are different types of arthritis in the knee, but the two most common are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. If you are experiencing pain and swelling of the knee, joint stiffness, knee instability and creaking or popping of the joint, you may have arthritis of....

Bursitis can turn everyday shoulder movements into painful ones.

The subacromial bursa helps reduce friction in the shoulder. When it becomes inflamed, reaching overhead can hurt.

If symptoms persist despite nonsurgical treatment, arthroscopic bursectomy may help remove the inflamed tissue. Learn more ⬇️

Shoulder Bursectomy Doctor Do you regularly participate in activities that require repetitive overhead arm movements and have subsequently experienced shoulder pain? A condition known as shoulder bursitis is often caused by inflammation from overuse, stemming from constant friction in the shoulder.....

When a frozen shoulder becomes severely stiff, restoring motion is a key part of treatment.

Under anesthesia, shoulder manipulation allows the surgeon to carefully move the joint through its restricted range of motion, releasing the tight capsule.

Combining manipulation with arthroscopic capsular release offers a more comprehensive approach to addressing the stiffness.

Frozen Shoulder Repair Doctor Have you been diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder? If so, you may be eligible for a shoulder treatment called arthroscopic capsular relase. When conservative measures have failed to eliminate shoulder pain and restore range of motion, surgical interven...

The difference between a good clinical team and a great one often comes down to the people working beside you.

Physician Assistants play an essential role in delivering thoughtful, coordinated, high-quality patient care: from the clinic to the operating room and throughout recovery.

This PA Week, Dr. Williams wants to recognize Melissa Lefkowitz, PA-C, and Andrew Scavuzzo, PA-C.

Their clinical expertise, professionalism and commitment to our patients make them invaluable members of our team.

Grateful for what they do every day, not just during PA Week. https://medilink.us/6c6f

Your shoulder blade is designed to glide smoothly over your rib cage. A small fluid-filled sac called the scapulothoracic bursa helps make that movement easier.

When the bursa becomes irritated or inflamed, it can lead to scapulothoracic bursitis, also known as snapping scapula syndrome.

The result? This results in painful popping, snapping, or grinding around the shoulder blade, sometimes especially noticeable with activities like lifting, swimming, tennis, or throwing.

Snapping Scapula Specialist Are you experiencing a snapping sensation in the shoulder blade? Do you have pain along the shoulder blade when moving? If so, you may have a shoulder condition called snapping scapula syndrome. This can be caused by overuse, reaching overhead or by sports that involve ov...

A posterior cruciate ligament tear may not be the only problem.

High-energy knee injuries can damage multiple stabilizing structures, including the posterolateral corner.

Identifying every source of instability is critical to developing the right treatment plan.

Treat the instability, not just the torn ligament.

PCL Reconstruction and Repair Surgeon Are you an athlete who participates in contact sports? If so, you may be at risk of sustaining a PCL injury. Posterior Cruciate Ligament injuries are not as common as ACL injuries, but when they occur, patients can experience severe knee instability and loss of....
