Swelling after breast cancer treatment isn’t something you have to just live with.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and lymphedema is one of the most common and least discussed parts of recovery. When lymph nodes are removed or damaged during treatment, fluid can back up, causing swelling, heaviness, and tightness in the arm, chest, or trunk.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle, hands-on technique that helps redirect that fluid along working pathways. It’s slow, light, and nothing like a deep tissue massage.
Alongside it, a PT can work on scar tissue mobility, shoulder range of motion, and safe return to exercise, all of which matter for how you feel day to day.
