One of the biggest concerns I hear from my male patients considering a facelift is, “Will I still look like myself?”

Men often worry about looking overdone, too pulled, or losing the masculine features that define their face. The goal should never be to change who you are; it’s to restore definition, address aging in the face and neck, and create a refreshed result that still looks natural and distinctly you.

Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the UK FACE Congress 2026 was an incredible honor, especially as I approach my 30th year in practice.

Thirty years in, I still believe there is always more to learn, more to refine, and more to give back. This year I’ve once again had the opportunity to travel around the world teaching, sharing the techniques and lessons I’ve learned throughout my career, and learning alongside colleagues who continue to inspire me to continue to master my own craft.

One of the greatest privileges of reaching this point in my career is being able to pass that knowledge on to the next generation of surgeons.

As Dr Fas Arshad FRCS (ORL-HNS) said when presenting me with this award, if there’s one thing I’m known for telling people, it’s: just do it. That really is the advice I give.

Believe in what you’re capable of. Be willing to work for it. Keep learning. Keep pushing yourself. Don’t wait for the perfect moment or for someone else to tell you that you can.

You can accomplish incredible things when you set your mind to them. Just get it done.

Just shy of the 24-hour mark following yesterday’s live surgery, and our patient is looking great and feeling even better.

Today at Day 3 of UK Face Congress 2026, I had the opportunity to bring her out and share a live look at the early recovery process, allowing attendees to see firsthand how she was doing less than a day after surgery.

Of course, every patient is different. Recovery timelines vary based on the individual, the procedure performed, and many other factors. There is no one-size-fits-all healing process.

Back home in the U.S., our patients recover in our state-of-the-art wellness center Kassir Wellness Center, where they begin a comprehensive recovery protocol that may include red light therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, lymphatic support, advanced wellness treatments, and around-the-clock nursing care - all designed to optimize comfort and support healing during those critical first days after surgery.

They say, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” For me, one of the most rewarding parts of this profession isn’t just performing surgery, it’s teaching it.

From deep plane facelifts to advanced facial rejuvenation techniques, having the opportunity to educate fellow surgeons and help them refine their craft is something I never take for granted. I’m grateful to the mentors who invested in me, and I’m honored to pay that knowledge forward.

Plastic Surgery is constantly evolving, and the best way we move our specialty forward is by continuing to learn from one another. I’m grateful this is the path I get to call my own.

Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. One of the most common questions we get is, “When will I look normal again?” The truth is that every procedure and every patient heals differently.

The first few weeks are usually when you’ll notice the biggest changes. Swelling, bruising, and tightness are all part of the normal healing process. By about the one-month mark, most patients feel much more comfortable being out, taking pictures, and returning to their normal routines, but healing is still happening beneath the surface.

As the months go on, swelling continues to resolve and the finer details begin to emerge. Around six months is when many patients start appreciating the more refined contours and subtle improvements, although some procedures continue to evolve beyond that.

A rhinoplasty follows a very different healing timeline than a deep plane facelift, neck lift, or brow lift, which is why comparing your recovery to someone else’s rarely tells the whole story.

Healing is a process, not a single moment. Trust the timeline, follow your surgeon’s instructions, and let your results reveal themselves naturally.
