You asked, so I listened. Three of you (including my own 85 yr old mother!) asked if there’s anything you can do for drop foot, and today’s video walks you through 7 simple, gentle exercises to help you regain strength and control.
You’ll notice I added something extra too, bend over triceps kickbacks, because I know you’re probably thinking this is just a leg day post. Your upper body needs love too, and every rep counts.
Save this one, share it with someone who needs it, and let me know here: which exercise are you starting with today?
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.”
~ Proverbs 6:6
Bend-Over Triceps Kickbacks
* Hold a pair of dumbbells and hinge forward at the hips, keeping your back flat and core engaged.
* Keep your elbows tucked close to your sides.
* Extend your arms straight behind you, squeezing your triceps at the top.
* Slowly return to the starting position with control.
* Perform 3 sets of 10 repetitions.
* Choose a weight that feels moderately challenging while allowing you to maintain proper form throughout all 10 reps.
Why? Strong triceps help with pushing up from a chair, using walkers or railings, improving balance, and maintaining independence in daily activities.
Exercises may not be appropriate for everyone. Speak with your healthcare provider or physiotherapist first.
