How easily we say that “I am high on life” which essentially means that my happiness doesn’t depend on anybody. I am crazy happy with my life, right?

Then why does our sadness depend on others or what they did? Why do we blame others when we are not happy?

Why do we hold resentment, negativity and upset towards others or their actions?

Don’t give your power to other people or what they did. Look within and find your answers for your sadness to and then deal with it.

Do you have emotional freedom? Free from the stress resentment, negativity, stress, ill-feelings?

Start practicing forgiveness now. Not just with others, but forgive yourself too.

Prioritise your emotional, mental and physical health.

Do you allow yourself to be vulnerable?

We are all born vulnerable. It is quite the natural undying bidding to our life but with time we tell ourselves that we have to be tough in order to experience abundance, to jump through hierarchies.

We slowly seep into the act of masking our vulnerability so that nobody sees through the emotional tumult. The self-destructive habits we start forming, for allowing ourselves the luxury of being vulnerable comes with a price. A price of being 100% okay with all that you are and then baring that existing authentic composition to the world without any facelifts.

Why are we not okay with ourselves? How could we be if perfection is all that is so rampantly sold? After all, it's a buyer's market that we live in. If we express our vulnerability, there's a great possibility that we will be misunderstood, judged, labelled or worst of all, rejected.

We relate vulnerability to being weak. I have been no different. I have held my guard tight and high to not let anyone see through the real sh*t that goes down. It starts with not allowing yourself to be 100% honest with yourself resulting in internal conflicts, mental stress, emotional emptiness that transcends into physical soon enough, losing on real relationships and sense of purpose.

Now what happens when we let ourselves be vulnerable. I'm far from being an expert on the subject. I can only speak from my firsthand experience. I am a chirpy extrovert who's mostly also an insufferable introvert. I am a snowflake and a rock, both at the same time. Do you know what I mean? It took courage to allow myself to be vulnerable, by accepting & forgiving myself for certain choices I made in the past, by opening doors to newer possibilities, by letting myself feel without worrying about consequences.

It is a real cathartic experience that is difficult to describe in words. I have experienced a true connection with myself and others. I began to attract people who were inspired by my openness. My mental health improved drastically, motivation, discipline, confidence increased, potency at all my endeavours shot up, happiness took a root.

Struggling with negativity or finding it difficult to find the good in your day/life?

Gratitude journaling is one of the most powerful tool. Read the post for details.

Start with writing only 5 things you’re grateful for before hitting the bed in the night. Do it for a week or two and see a remarkable difference.

Can you guess the book I’m reading? Of course the photo is staged. I don’t look, dress or behave this good at home ever. I’m more like old banyan tree that was just hit by a hurricane. True story.

Thank you Soham Hundekar for the lovely picture.

Received Women of Inspiration Award, that too on women’s day. Overjoyed and overwhelmed. Don’t know what else to say.

I have a clear intent & mission to lead a rich purposeful life also help people elevate their wellness quotient, recognise their inner greatness and unlock their full potential.

I was/am that awkward person in public gatherings, forums, awards or networking events who is wildly uncomfortable and absolutely lost. One of those people who don’t know why they are there, who they should talk to, how to make “personal/business connections”. If at all I happen to attend such an event, you’ll find me sticking to one corner with 1-2 friends for as long I’m there. This coming from me could sound wierd at so many levels, I know. I am working on improving it to be honest.

I am an extrovert but more than that I am somebody who’s deeply squished in her shell when it comes to socialising. It was one such evening yesterday. I didn’t know anybody in yesterday’s Women of Inspiration event. Thank you organising team for blessing me with the honour nonetheless.

Thanks to my darling dost Gunna Gunwant Singh who came to see me. We sat at one corner, enjoyed our simple coffee and dared to squeeze in taaza and stale khabarein of 5+ years in a couple of hours and of course didn’t click any photos. We need to meet more often than once in half a decade.

Thanks for this honour Vegas group & Dwarka moms. Being recognised amidst women who are serving in the forces, heading educational institutions, excelling in the space of media & entertainment, wellness and well-being, social services and many other versatile categories was nothing less than a dream. I was ecstatic and also a little embarrassed too.

This means a lot. A big thank you to everyone who supported me in my journey so far. I am only learning to stand right now. Will start walking soon. Forever grateful.

Love and blessings
Shobha
