I’m Dr. Lee Phillips. I’m a licensed psychotherapist, certified s*x therapist, author, actor, and stand-up comedian based in New York City.

I help people navigate s*x, dating, relationships, s*xual shame, and intimacy, including how chronic illness can affect our s*xual lives. My work makes room for different identities, relationship structures, and ways of experiencing pleasure.

I also have two books coming: S*xuality and Chronic Illness: A Clinician’s Guide to S*xual Wellness and Healing and Q***ring Dating and Desire. 📚

I’m studying acting at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting to become a stage, film, and television actor. I bring my observations about dating and gay life to the comedy stage because sometimes we need a meaningful conversation, and sometimes we need a good laugh.

It introduces a new relational framework grounded in autonomy, consent, emotional, awareness, and flexibility. It challenges the notion of a single “correct” way to build a relationship and instead asks a more useful question: what kind of connection works for you, and what are you willing to do to create it?

A Lesson in S*xology: The Gift of the Erotic

The erotic is not just about s*x.

It’s about feeling alive in your body.

We often reduce eroticism to s*xual behavior, who we’re attracted to, what turns us on, or what happens in the bedroom. But our erotic selves can be much bigger than that.

The erotic can live in anticipation, fantasy, touch, movement, confidence, creativity, curiosity, sensuality, and connection.

Sometimes we become so focused on having s*x that we stop asking a more interesting question:

“What makes me feel erotically alive?”

Maybe it’s being desired.
Maybe it’s feeling confident in what you’re wearing.
Maybe it’s dancing.
Maybe it’s flirting.
Maybe it’s surrendering control, or taking it.
Maybe it’s allowing yourself to experience pleasure without needing to justify it.

The gift of the erotic is that it can teach us about ourselves, our desires, boundaries, vulnerabilities, fantasies, identities, and capacity for pleasure.

Your erotic self doesn’t have to perform.

It gets to explore.

And sometimes, reclaiming your erotic life begins not with having more s*x, but with giving yourself permission to ask:
