Keysar Center of Massage Founded by Kaci Jones, LMT, in 2010, the Keysar Center of Massage offered personalized therapeutic services for 14 years.

In September 2024, Kaci sold the practice to relocate to Tennessee and focus on full-time caregiving for her parents. Our clinic was founded by Kaci Jones, in honor of her grandmother, Mary Jane Keysar (thus the name of the clinic). We strive to support the caregivers and weekend warriors of our community. We are dedicated to providing excellent care, and specialized care difficult to find outside

of a metropolis. We love our community, and recognize the most needed, hardest working and least likely to take care of themselves! We also specialize in injury recovery, especially from motor vehicle accidents, and injuries on the job. Between Kaci, Karen, and Cristina, all insurances (who cover massage) are accepted. We are also proud to host Lorna Smith, Certified Reflexologist, of Heals & Toes. We are available for extended hours over the summer, and BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on the weekends/ holidays. We are here for YOU, so that you can be there for THEM. Thank you for choosing the Keysar Center of Massage.

Hello from Tennessee! Just checking in to say all is well on the new Homefront. I’m caring for my parents full-time and not working outside of being a full-time housekeeper, chef, laundress, chauffeur, dog mom, shopper, organizer, and lawn maintenance crew! Whew!

For those of you who know and love Janice Hovik, she’s now booking clients at Medical Massage & Acupuncture two days a week and offering mobile sessions as well. Kat has opened her own practice—find her on Facebook at Equilibrium Massage & Bodywork. I miss everyone so much! Not massaging daily is still weird.

Oh, and Norman says hi! You can keep up with his antics on Instagram at Norman_D_Shorkie. He’s absolutely loving life with his grandparents and rocking a new mohawk—it’s adorable! And happy news: Emma has landed a new position and is going to be just fine.

Thank you all for your incredible support and kindness. Stay in touch!

PS- Still in the 80's over here!!! LOVE THIS WEATHER!!!

In just a few days I’ll be providing chair massages for the ReedPOP staff and special guests at this year’s New York Comic Con! Long flights, jet lag, and endless hours of autographs can take a toll, leading to issues like writer's cramp, migraines, and TMJD. With so much happening, a 12-hour day of handshakes and smiles becomes a challenge. I'm excited to help everyone stay refreshed and energized throughout the convention. Can't wait to see you all soon!

The Hidden Costs of Burning Bridges in the Massage Industry

In the massage industry, your skills are just one piece of the puzzle. The relationships you build with clients, colleagues, and employers are critical to your success—and how you handle your exit from a job can have long-lasting effects.

Burning bridges isn’t worth the risk. Word travels fast in this tight-knit community, and clients remember more than you think. Leaving abruptly or on bad terms can tarnish your reputation, making it harder to build trust in your next role.

Respect relationships. Employers and clients invest time and energy into you. Leaving with grace and professionalism not only shows respect, but it also keeps doors open for future referrals and opportunities.

Think long-term. Your career is a marathon, not a sprint. Short-term satisfaction from quitting impulsively can cost you in the long run. The way you exit today can shape tomorrow’s opportunities.

Remember: **You never know when paths will cross again.** Keeping relationships intact is key to a thriving, sustainable career in massage therapy. Preserve your reputation, and don’t burn bridges.

In today’s fast-paced world, texting has become a convenient way to stay connected with clients. Giving your clients your cell number can be incredibly useful—allowing them to notify you in real-time if they’re running late, need to cancel an appointment, or are available to fill a last-minute opening. This immediate communication can help keep your schedule running smoothly and ensure that no opportunity is missed.

However, there’s a fine line between being accessible and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Giving clients unlimited access to your personal phone isn’t just a potential safety risk; it can also blur the boundaries between your professional and personal life. Constantly being "on-call" can lead to burnout, making it harder to switch off and recharge.

Here’s how to strike the right balance:

1. Set Clear Boundaries: Establish specific hours during which you’re available for client communication. Communicate these boundaries clearly to your clients from the start.

2. Use Business Tools: Consider using a separate business number or a communication app that allows you to manage client interactions without giving out your personal number.

3. Respect Your Time: Don’t feel obligated to respond to non-urgent messages outside of business hours. Your personal time is just as important as your professional responsibilities.

4. Educate Your Clients: Let your clients know why these boundaries are in place. They’re more likely to respect your time if they understand that it helps you provide them with the best possible care.

By setting and maintaining these boundaries, you can enjoy the benefits of modern communication while protecting your time, safety, and well-being. It’s all about finding that balance where you’re accessible, but not always available.
