Story time!
When I was 15, I started playing guitar & having been a rock/metal head for years, I quickly became obsessed
6+ hour playing days, bands, the whole nines
When I was around 21, however, I felt like the passion just “left” me
I went almost 10 years barely picking up a guitar & because I had no idea about the subconscious or the concept of “healing” back then, all I knew was that every time I looked at my guitar cases I would feel a sense of dread wash over me😂
Looking back, it was my own mind & perfectionism that got the best of me, which is why I felt that dread every-time I looked at my gear
I had been silently judging myself for years which DID force me to play a ton to try to overcome it, but because that was the pattern running in the background, I can’t say I truly “enjoyed” it like I wanted to
Fast forward to 3 years ago & I decided to do something about it now that I felt I had uncovered what had been holding me back
Now I’m back to 2-3 hour days, really playing the best I’ve ever played AND I’m enjoying it to an obsession level once again
So I’m posting this video to remind you that if there’s something you know in your heart is a part of you, yet you feel that similar dread when you think/feel into it, that it’s probably not a “discipline” or “lack of passion” issue
It’s a “I’m telling myself a sh*tty story” problem😂
What I love about the work I do is that no matter what aspect of life I want to improve on, whether it’s business, my relationship, music, fitness, etc., it all comes down to this question
“What story am I telling myself?”
When you get good at learning how to create empowering stories for yourself, you get the cheat code for life & it will “seem” like magic to those around you how you do what you do
& honestly, it is magic, & it’s magic YOU can learn at any point in your life, which is why I love doing what I do & getting to see that lightbulb go off for those I work with
Love y’all!
