Mental Health Awareness Month is ending, but your healing, support, and growth do not have to stop here.

If youve been thinking about starting therapy, you dont have to wait for the right time. Support can start with one small step.

A few ways to keep the momentum going:
 Book a consultation
Ask about insurance coverage or sliding scale options
Try one grounding habit this week (a walk, journaling, a 5 minute breathing break)
Check in with someone you trust

If you or someone you love needs support, Talking Works is here.

We offer:
Individual therapy, couples counseling, and child and family therapy
In person sessions across NYC and Long Island, plus online therapy
A diverse, multilingual team and evidence based approaches (CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic, EFT, Gottman)
Affordable options, including low fee supervised sessions

Many people wait to begin therapy because they think their problems are not “serious enough” or they do not know where to start.
You can start exactly where you are.
Ask yourself: What would I want to feel more supported with right now?

If you have been living in stress for a long time, calm may feel unfamiliar at first. That does not mean it is wrong. It may mean your body is learning something new.

Create one moment of safety today: lower the lights, take a slow breath, sit somewhere quiet, or talk to someone who feels safe.

Healing is not always a dramatic breakthrough. Sometimes healing looks like pausing before reacting, asking for help, resting without guilt, setting one boundary, or choosing not to repeat an old pattern.

Sometimes healing is:
• Taking a deep breath before you answer that text
• Showing up to your session even when you feel tired
• Noticing a trigger and choosing a kinder response
• Eating a real meal
• Turning your phone off 10 minutes earlier
• Saying “no” without over-explaining

Quiet progress is still progress.

Challenge: Write down one quiet way you have grown lately. Then read it back and let it count.

If you’re ready for support, we’re here. Link in bio to get started.

You do not have to disappear to be loved. You do not have to silence yourself to belong. Healthy relationships make room for your truth.

Notice one place where you minimize yourself, and practice taking up a little more space.

Mental Health Month Day 18
Being emotionally drained does not mean you are weak. It often means you have been carrying too much for too long.
Your needs matter, even when you are used to ignoring them.

Ask yourself: What is one thing I can release, postpone, or ask for help with?

Protecting your peace isn’t selfish; it’s productive. When your mind is calm, your focus gets sharper, your energy lasts longer, and your decisions come from clarity instead of chaos.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is step back, set boundaries, and stop giving your attention to everything that drains you. Peace creates space for growth, discipline, creativity, and purpose. The quieter the distractions become, the louder your vision gets.

Choose peace. Protect your energy. Stay focused on what is building you, not what is breaking you.
