I recently had an awesome conversation with Eric Tung with and Dr. Thalia Nicholson with about the unique mental health challenges experienced by first responders and military personnel. In this episode, we talked about stigma behind seeking help, the importance of engaging in evidence-based therapy, and the ins and outs of confidentiality. It’s worth a listen! Last week, I was honored to present (virtually) at the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians 2026 Annual Meeting alongside two outstanding colleagues, Jamison Tate, MD and Jeffrey Goodie, PhD.

Our workshop, "Swapping Pills for Skills: Brief Behavioral Interventions for Family Medicine Physicians," focused on helping uniformed family medicine physicians leverage their embedded behavioral health consultants and integrate brief, effective, and evidence-based strategies to address behavioral health concerns in real-world primary care settings - especially within military populations where access to care remains a challenge.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important work and to be part of ongoing efforts to expand access to high-quality, integrated behavioral health care! It's a great reminder how impactful collaborative, integrated care can be for both patients and providers.

This week marks one year since I opened Momentum Behavioral Health! πŸŽ‰

Over the past year, I've had the privilege of working with incredible individuals navigating sleep difficulties, anxiety, trauma, and burnout - many of whom are trying to balance demanding careers while trying to take care of their own health.

Watching clients gain insight, build new skills, and create meaningful change in their lives is truly the most rewarding part of this work.

In the past year, I've also had the opportunity to expand services beyond individual therapy by offering group therapy and assessments, collaborate with amazing conversations, and even contribute to conversations about sleep health (including a feature in Business Insider) and other discussions about the importance of mental health (via several podcasts).

I'm deeply grateful to the clients, colleagues, and referral partners who trusted and supported this practice in its first year.

If you or someone you know is looking for evidence-based therapy for sleep, anxiety, trauma, or stress, I currently offer virtual services in NY, MD, AL, FL, and NC.

Here's to year two of helping people build momentum in their lives!

Excited to share I was recently featured in 𝐡𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 πΌπ‘›π‘ π‘–π‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿ!

In the article, I shared insights on how sleep headphones could be used to support better sleep -- and what people should consider if they're thinking about using them at night. As a clinical psychologist who specializes in sleep, I'm always glad to see more conversations highlighting the importance of sleep especially considering it's impact on our physical and mental wellbeing.

While technology alone isn't a cure for sleep difficulties, tools like this can sometimes be a helpful complement to approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which remains the gold standard treatment for insomnia.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute!

You can read the article here:

Whether you prefer to fall asleep to music or drown out a partner's snoring, the best sleep headphones are comfy, stay put, and play sounds overnight.
