My session, Treating Chronic Illness in Context: Relational and Family-Based Approaches for Supporting Clients and Caregivers, will focus on the often-overlooked relational impact of chronic illness, including caregiver burnout, changing family roles, loss of independence, and practical interventions to support patients, caregivers, and families.

I may not look sick,
but it takes other people’s antibodies to keep me safe.

I live with a primary immunodeficiency. My immune system doesn’t function the way it should.

These immunoglobulin infusions(IVIG) provide the antibodies my body cannot make on its own—something most people never have to think about.

This is what living with a rare disease can look like:
invisible, complex, and often misunderstood.

Grateful for the science, the donors, and the care that make this possible.
