Most of us grab a bag of chips without checking the date or code printed on it.
This recall is a reason to take a second look.
More than 680,000 bags of certain Zapp’s and Dirty potato chips are included in a recall that the FDA classified as Class I, its most serious recall classification.
The recall does not include every product made by Utz. It applies only to specific flavors, package sizes, best-by dates, and manufacturing codes.
Utz initiated the recall after being notified that a seasoning ingredient may contain Salmonella. The affected seasoning batches tested negative before use, but consumers are still advised not to eat recalled products and to discard them.
Salmonella symptoms usually begin six hours to six days after infection. Common symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps.
If you ate one of the recalled products and feel unwell, Doctronic can help you better understand your symptoms and decide whether to seek medical care.
