✨✨HUGE NEWS!! I am so beyond thrilled to announce that Cara Pauls, CNM, DNP will be joining CMC as a second midwife next month!! ✨✨
Cara’s long road to midwifery began with a childhood fascination with birth, brought about by her parents’ yearly telling of her own birth story. Cara holds an undergraduate degree in graphic design and worked in marketing for a decade, but after a Cesarean birth with her first child and an empowering midwifery-led, doula-supported VBAC with her second, a switch flipped. Shortly afterwards she trained as a doula and lactation counselor supporting NYC families for 5 years before beginning her midwifery education at Columbia University.
She worked as a midwife at both Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Elmhurst Hospital, and is honored to have offered free and low-cost care to hundreds of families in her home borough of Queens. She then transitioned to Central Park Midwifery where she fell in love with the intimate and thoughtful care that private practice affords. She is so excited to partner with Gina and Community Midwifery Care to continue this work.
She lives with her partner, two kids—both teenagers—and her dog in Queens.
When she’s not working she’s probably hiking with her family upstate, knitting up a storm, or enjoying long conversations with friends over coffee.
Welcome, Cara!
