Anger can feel like a warm bath, but...

Sometimes when we feel deeply hurt, frightened, or betrayed, the psyche reaches almost instantly for anger. Anger can feel warm. It can feel powerful. It can feel safe. For many people, it once was…

Remember riding a seesaw as a kid? Up and down, up and down. Just sitting there facing each other was no fun. The fun was in the wild swings. But in life, these kinds of swings can become disorient…

Creative people often struggle less with talent than with structure, momentum, isolation, and self-doubt.

As a therapist, I work with writers, musicians, artists, and other creative people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, scattered, or disconnected from their work. My approach isn’t productivity coaching or “optimize your life” culture. I’m more interested in helping people develop a workable relationship to creativity, discipline, meaning, and emotional life in a way that feels sustainable and human.

Practically, that can include:

difficulty following through on projects
managing attention and executive functioning
creative paralysis or avoidance
balancing structure with spontaneity
questions of purpose, identity, and direction

I tend to work best with thoughtful, introspective, creative people looking for a grounded and collaborative process rather than formulas or performance culture.

If this resonates, feel free to reach out.
