Our goal is for Olivia to attend the Intensive Therapeutics Camp Helping Hands in New Jersey http://intensivetherapeutics.org/ Yes I know, how crazy that kids have strokes. Actually one in 1600 in births. Her right carotid artery was blocked. The first day she was born she had a seizure. They ran all kinds of tests and found out that it was a stroke. The doctors said they didn't know if she would
walk or talk, we just had to wait and see. I never said anything because I know everyone would have questions and I had no answers. I was trying to stay positive. I didn't want people to see her and think about the stroke. I wanted her to be just a typical baby. It effected her left side of her body. She was diagnosed with left hemiplegia, and a mild case of cerebral palsy. Olivia has come a very long way! Going to therapy since she was 6 weeks old. The team of people that she sees on a weekly basis are so awesome. We go to OT and PT twice a week and Speech therapy weekly. She has very little fine motor skills in her left hand. Some of you may have seen her wearing a pink hand brace. Her left leg is doing very well. It's getting stronger every day. She is a little pistol never missing a beat! Wants to do everything herself. Which is great, if she cant do something the typical way she does it Olivia's way. I always say everything happens for a reason. In this journey I have met amazing families and awesome kids. Olivia has made me look at life so differently and I wouldn't change anything in the world. This was the path our family was suppose to be on. Just by you reading this you have already supported our family! Thank You. Our goal is for Olivia to attend the Intensive Therapeutics Camp Helping Hands in New Jersey. This camp is AMAZING!!
