Rhinoplasty isn’t about changing one feature and calling it a day. Every detail of the nose is connected, and creating balance means looking at the entire structure.

For this patient, we started with a dorsal hump, bulbous and wide tip, narrow dorsum, nasal deviation, and a wider nasal base. Even details like thicker skin and the underlying cartilage anatomy have to be considered when developing the surgical plan.

The goal? To refine the bridge, create better definition through the tip, improve symmetry and bring the different parts of the nose into better proportion with one another

And then comes the part patients hear us say over and over again: trust the process. 🤍

Rhinoplasty results don’t happen overnight. Swelling changes, definition develops, and the nose continues to evolve throughout the healing process. What you see early on is only the beginning.

Plan carefully. Operate precisely. Heal patiently. And trust the process.

A rhinoplasty can change the nose. But balancing the nose AND chin can change the entire profile. 👀

For this transformation, we approached the face as a whole with a revision rhinoplasty + chin augmentation.

The nose required significant structural work, including donor rib and ear cartilage, to rebuild support, improve the dorsum, refine the tip, and address asymmetry from her previous surgery. The chin was then augmented to create stronger projection and a more defined transition into the jawline.

The goal wasn’t for either feature to steal the show — it was for them to finally make sense together.

Swipe through and look at the relationship between the forehead, nose, lips, chin, and jawline. That’s where the transformation really happens. ✨

Ever heard of an Alar Base Reduction (ABR)? 👃✨

It may be a small part of a rhinoplasty, but it can make an important difference in the overall balance and proportion of the nose.

One thing patients may not realize: Dr. Zimm typically makes the decision about ABR at the very end of the rhinoplasty. After the bridge and tip have been refined and the nose has taken its new shape, he can evaluate the nostril width and alar base in relation to the finished nose and determine whether any additional refinement would create better balance.

Because sometimes, the best decision is the one made after seeing the whole picture. ✨

A rhinoplasty can change the nose. But balancing the nose AND chin can change the entire profile. 👀

For this transformation, we approached the face as a whole with a revision rhinoplasty + chin augmentation.

Her revision rhinoplasty required rebuilding and refining previously operated nasal structures, addressing a saddled dorsum, tip position, asymmetry, and nasal support. Because revision cases often have limited native cartilage available, donor rib cartilage and ear cartilage were used for additional structural support.
The goal wasn’t for either feature to steal the show — it was for them to finally make sense together.

Refinement isn’t about doing more. It’s knowing exactly where a few millimeters matter.

For this patient, those millimeters mattered at the dorsum, the tip, the columella and the alar base.

An alar base reduction helped narrow the base and improve its relationship with the newly refined tip, while preserving a natural nostril shape.

Those tiny stitches around the base of the nostrils? They’re from an alar base reduction, a technique used when appropriate to refine the width and shape of the nostrils and create better balance with the newly refined nose. The incisions are carefully placed within the natural creases around the nostrils and typically heal very discreetly.

The result immediately on the table is a nose that feels more cohesive from profile to base view.

No single maneuver created this transformation.

It’s the way all of the details work together. ✨

New beginnings, with a little history behind them. 🤍💍

Two years ago, this beautiful patient came to us looking to create more balance in her profile. Her surgical plan included an open septorhinoplasty, chin implant, and submental liposuction—addressing a dorsal hump, bulbous tip, nasal asymmetry, reduced chin projection, and the overall relationship between her nose, chin, and jawline.

Fast-forward two years… and we get to see these results in one of life’s most unforgettable chapters: her wedding day. 🥹✨

The best results aren’t just about how someone looks in a before & after—they’re the ones that become part of all the beautiful moments that come after.

Congratulations to our gorgeous patient and her husband on this new beginning. Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness. 🤍

From a new profile to a new last name. 💍✨

1 year later ✨ Which view catches your eye first — front, profile, ¾… or the smile? 👀

This rhinoplasty was about addressing several details together: a dorsal hump, longer nasal appearance, bulbous/droopy tip, asymmetry, and nostril flaring ➡️ while keeping the final result in harmony with her own features.

Now look closely as you swipe ➡️
The profile shows the shape.
The ¾ views show the definition.
But don’t skip the smiling before & after — notice what happens to the tip when she smiles.

One nose. Multiple angles. A full year of healing. 🤍
