The first clip is at 5 months after ACL repair with the BEAR implant and LET. The second is at 7 months. Not just jogging. Not just cutting. A collegiate punter launching a 50-yard bomb with confidence.

ACL injuries are often discussed in terms of grafts, repairs, timelines, and protocols. But what really matters is restoring the ability to do the things that make a patient who they are. So far, so good.

Three years ago, she flew all the way from Colorado to have her ACL repaired. This week, while back on the East Coast for a wedding, she stopped by for a follow up visit.

The best part? Hearing that she’s doing great.

Nothing beats seeing patients years later, back to living their lives, staying active, and forgetting they ever had a knee injury in the first place.

Safe travels back to Colorado, and thanks for stopping in to say hello! 👊🦵

Three weeks post ACL primary repair. 👊

This high-level rugby player is already walking stairs with confidence.

More importantly, listen to how he describes how he’s feeling. That’s what it’s all about.

Another episode of “Respect the Ink.” 🎨🦵

This patient had severe polytrauma and developed heterotopic ossification within the MCL, requiring an extensile medial knee approach for excision.

The easy thing to do? A straight 6 inch incision right down the medial side of the knee, directly through the middle of his leg sleeve tattoo.

That’s not how we roll.

Surgery is about more than just fixing pathology. It’s about respecting the person attached to it. Took a little more planning, a little more creativity, but preserving the artwork mattered. So we worked around it.

Function restored. Ink respected.

Kudos to my PA, Tony Chen, for this mastery. 👏

Prague 🇨🇿 has been a great time. I had the opportunity to debate the role of ACL Primary Repair and Preservation at the ESSKA Congress 2026 alongside colleagues from around the world.

What made the experience even better was the discussion afterwards. Surgeons and physicians from more than 10 different countries stayed for a long Q&A session, challenging ideas, sharing perspectives, and asking thoughtful questions about ACL preservation.

Moments like this are exactly why the movement continues to grow. More surgeons around the world are beginning to question the “one size fits all” mindset around ACL injuries and reconstruction.

Like I said years ago: my goal was never to convince everyone overnight. The goal was simply to spread the concept to smart surgeons and physicians across the world and let them come to their own conclusions.

And more and more, people are arriving at the same realization: a Preservation First® approach to ACL injury just makes sense. 🌎🦵

Just shy of 3 months out from ACL primary repair with the BEAR implant, and this 34-year-old snowboarder is doing great. Strong progress, steady confidence, and getting closer every day to being back on the mountain. 🏂💪

Love stories like this.

Back for senior night at Chaminade High School, knocked down a 3, and doing exactly what he should be doing one year after ACL primary repair with autograft quadriceps tendon augmentation and meniscal repairs.

Healthy, confident, and headed to Penn State University this fall.
