End of August is a time of transition for many of us. The intensity of change can kick us into action and frenzy that doesn’t actually serve us.

There will never be a frictionless time in life, and maybe that’s sorta the point. We grow stronger through managing these tensions more than finding solutions that clear the path.

Pacing is sooo hard when our society rewards urgency, pushing past limits, and growth at any cost. Especially when learning to trust ourselves and our bodies arrives as the result of discerning our own ā€œtoo muchā€ cues. Some of us require more reps of FAFO to learn than others. Our internal cues are always talking, are we listening?

Being microniche ā€œinternet famousā€ is still the biggest left turn of my life. I’ve felt increasing dissonance around content creation over the years as I’ve witnessed the flattening of nuance, weaponization of therapy-talk, rise of both empowering and destructive self-diagnoses, these platforms profit on controversy, targeted attacks on creators who talk about antiracism and social justice, and now recent articles blaming therapists for the rise in family estrangement.

Simultaneously, I’ve received countless messages on the ways my content has helped people, witnessed mental health conversations grow, therapy be destigmatized in communities of color, seen polyamory and expansive relationships become more mainstream, trained over 1500 clinicians from around the world on anti-oppressive clinical care, published a freaking book.

This space has changed my life, and I continue to have a conflicted relationship with being here. I love trends cuz they’re fun. I love collabing with other creators. I love sharing my trainings, community events, and recaps from meeting people IRL. I love yapping about my personal growth and tying my takeaways to mental health concepts. I’m still here, sporadically with no content calendar or plan. And I’m so glad you’re still here too ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

Every breakthrough is a rupture.
When we grow individually, we must also grow relationally.
