New York Center for Living

New York Center for Living Our treatment program was developed by experienced professionals who understand the young mind and their behavioral patterns.

We are an outpatient treatment center in NYC, dedicated to helping individuals - and their families - with substance use issues and co-occurring mental health challenges. The New York Center for Living is dedicated to one purpose: helping young people and their families work through the web of problems caused by the use and abuse of addictive substances, both legal and illegal. We are a vital sour

ce for families around the country looking for information and help for the young people in their lives who have problems with substance abuse and other co-occurring disorders. We focus on the needs of teens and young adults who begin and continue to use addictive substances in response to the daily pressures of adolescence and urban and suburban life. We emphasize the importance of addressing problems as soon as they come to light. At the New York Center for Living, we understand substance use touches more than one area of an addict's life. It affects the whole person physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and our treatment philosophy addresses all the areas of these life areas, including family, mental health, school, nutrition, and the social environment. We support the use of an innovative 12-step philosophy to help our members and their families become healthy and productive again. Our caring, experienced clinical staff and primary therapists provide a great deal of personal support, guidance and respect so lives can be made whole.

Healing doesn't happen by sitting quietly in a room. The right group can become a place to practice new coping skills, build confidence, and connect with people who understand what you're experiencing. For many teens and young adults, those shared conversations become an important part of creating lasting change.

Our group therapy program blends evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, relapse prevention, and creative arts therapy to help participants strengthen emotional resilience and recovery skills. Family groups also provide guidance and support for loved ones.

How will you care for yourself today?

Sometimes self-care looks like slowing down. Sometimes it means setting a boundary, reaching out, taking a break, or admitting that you need support. There isn’t one right way to take care of yourself.

At New York Center for Living, we help adolescents, young adults, and families navigate substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges with compassionate, individualized support.

Whatever today looks like, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Learn more at centerforliving.org.

Spending time online is part of everyday life, but there comes a point when screen use begins affecting sleep, relationships, school, or emotional health. Because technology is everywhere, it's easy to overlook the signs that an unhealthy dependence may be developing.

We treat tech and screen-related addictions alongside substance use and mental health concerns using evidence-based therapy and structured support. Learning how technology affects emotional well-being can help you recognize when it's time to make a change.

Every life is worth reaching for.

Overdose Awareness Month is a time to remember the lives lost, support the people still struggling, and remind one another that asking for help can change the direction of a life.

At New York Center for Living, adolescents, young adults, and families can find compassionate support for substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. Recovery can start with something as simple as reaching out.
