New York Center for Living

New York Center for Living Our treatment program was developed by experienced professionals who understand the young mind and their behavioral patterns.

We are an outpatient treatment center in NYC, dedicated to helping individuals - and their families - with substance use issues and co-occurring mental health challenges. The New York Center for Living is dedicated to one purpose: helping young people and their families work through the web of problems caused by the use and abuse of addictive substances, both legal and illegal. We are a vital sour

ce for families around the country looking for information and help for the young people in their lives who have problems with substance abuse and other co-occurring disorders. We focus on the needs of teens and young adults who begin and continue to use addictive substances in response to the daily pressures of adolescence and urban and suburban life. We emphasize the importance of addressing problems as soon as they come to light. At the New York Center for Living, we understand substance use touches more than one area of an addict's life. It affects the whole person physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and our treatment philosophy addresses all the areas of these life areas, including family, mental health, school, nutrition, and the social environment. We support the use of an innovative 12-step philosophy to help our members and their families become healthy and productive again. Our caring, experienced clinical staff and primary therapists provide a great deal of personal support, guidance and respect so lives can be made whole.

Bipolar depression and alcohol abuse can create a painful cycle, but treatment can help.

For some people, alcohol becomes a way to cope with depressive episodes, racing thoughts, emotional pain, or instability. Over time, that coping mechanism can make symptoms worse and make recovery feel harder to manage alone.

At NY Center for Living, we provide dual diagnosis treatment for teens, young adults, and adults struggling with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, including bipolar depression and alcohol abuse. Our flexible outpatient programs include individualized assessments, psychiatric support, evidence-based therapies, family involvement, peer recovery support, and a care plan built around each client’s needs.

When both conditions are present, both deserve the right support.

Some patterns helped you survive, but they may not be helping you heal.

Learning to release them takes time, safety, and support. For teens and young adults, that process can begin with being seen, understood, and connected to care that meets them where they are.

At New York Center for Living, we help adolescents, young adults, and families move toward greater stability, connection, and hope.

Sometimes teens do not have the words to say they are struggling.

They may pull away, shut down, become more reactive, lose interest in things they used to enjoy, or seem “fine” while carrying more than they can manage alone.

Support can help when emotions, relationships, school, substance use, or daily life start to feel harder than usual.

At New York Center for Living, adolescents and young adults receive compassionate care designed to help them feel understood, supported, and connected.

When technology starts to interfere with school, sleep, relationships, mental health, or daily life, it may be more than “too much screen time.”

For many teens and young adults, digital habits can become a way to escape stress, anxiety, loneliness, or emotional pain. What begins as a distraction can slowly become something that feels hard to control.

At New York Center for Living, we help young people and families better understand their relationship with technology and build healthier patterns with support, structure, and compassion.

If your child is struggling with gaming, social media, streaming, or other digital behaviors, you are not alone, and help is available.

We’re honored to be featured in . At New York Center for Living, we take a modern, compassionate approach to an increasingly urgent issue—helping young people rethink and rebuild their relationship with technology in a healthy, supported environment.

Rather than focusing on restriction alone, our work centers on understanding behavior, creating structure, and guiding patients toward balance in both their online and offline lives.

As conversations around technology use continue to evolve, we remain committed to meeting individuals and families where they are—and supporting meaningful, lasting change.

The teenage brain is still developing, especially the areas responsible for impulse control, decision-making, and emotional regulation. At the same time, teens experience stronger dopamine responses, which can make substances feel more rewarding and increase the risk of addiction developing faster.

At New York Center for Living, we help teens and families better understand addiction through evidence-based outpatient treatment, family support, CBT, DBT, creative therapies, and peer connection.
