We made it!
Am I pinching myself? YES!!
This pregnancy has been filled with all the ups and downs, with anxiety probably being my at the forefront of this entire journey, knowing nothing but loss in the past.
After 8 years of TTC, multiple surgeries, multiple losses and never having the happy ending we prayed for, we finally made it this far and it feels so surreal!!
We started IVF in November, my scan showed 11 follicles and we had hoped for around 9-10 eggs. I know a lot of people say ivf isn't exciting and it's something that shouldn't be said... but to us, we were so excited. We told all our friends and family, we knew it wasn't a guaranteed outcome but we had hope, and I prayed every night that this round would result our little Christmas Miracle.
My cycle was nearly cancelled as even though I was on a high dose of the stims medication, my body didn't react in the was we assumed it would. My scan showed 3 follicles which measured small, I was told to prepare for the possibility of no egg retrieval.
Devastated, we kept injecting in front of the Christmas tree and held on to that hope.
On the 12th of December, I went in for egg retrieval and woke up to the number 7 written on my hand and broke down in tears! Out of those 7, 6 were mature enough for icsi.
5 of those fertilised and 3 made it to day 3 but all 3 had fragmentation.. I was told that we would have to wait until day 5 (possible transfer day) to see if they make it.
Day 5 we went in, we had 1 embryo with fragmentation suitable for transfer, unfortunately our other 2 were not suitable for freezing and we lost them... but that one and only embaby fought all odds and made it!
And here we are ♡ 7 months later in the third trimester with the little embryo that could.
My little Christmas Miracle, My Moonlight, Our baby girl Giselle 🤍
Only 11 weeks and 2 days until I get to hold you in my arms and we finally get to celebrate Christmas as a Family of 3.
All the daily injections, surgeries and tears have definitely been worth it.
Never stop holding onto hope 🙏🤍 ###
