Tribe Sober Since 2015 we have built a community of people who are changing their relationship with alcohol. The beautiful thing is we are all helping each other x

We have sober people, people who are struggling, people who are well on their way and of course newbies. Tribe Sober is a movement which will enable people to develop tools to support their journey to sobriety as well as becoming part of a community. Our mission is “to support and inspire a life without alcohol”. We offer workshops, sobriety coaching, social events and support groups. We publish the latest thinking and research around alcohol use. We consult medical experts and psychologists and make them accessible to our members. We aim to put people who are trying to cut down or quit alcohol into a safe and protected space – if you are looking for support and inspiration to change your drinking habits then join our Community and say hello!

Changing your relationship with alcohol starts with knowing that change is possible—and having support along the way.

In his review of The Tribe Sober 90-Day Reset, Anthony Eldridge-Rogers highlights what sits at the heart of our work: a practical plan and a community to help you through it.

Janet Gourand’s book brings that approach to the page, helping you explore life beyond alcohol and build a life you enjoy.

If you’re tired of making the same promises to yourself, this could be your next step. 📖

Every morning I woke at 3am, my heart hammering with a toxic cocktail of exhaustion, anxiety and self-loathing.

Lying in the dark, I’d make a solemn promise: no drinking today.

But by 4pm, the internal negotiator in my brain would wake up. Just one glass after dinner won’t hurt. You deserve it.

By 6pm, the w**e was poured, and the cycle started all over again. I was trapped in a Groundhog Day of my own making.

As woman who had built a career on setting goals and achieving them, I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t crack this problem. I assumed it was a catastrophic lack of willpower.

I know now that it wasn’t a lack of willpower. I needed to understand why I kept reaching for that glass—and how to break the cycle.

That’s why I wrote The 90 Day Reset. If the 3am promises and 6pm negotiations sound familiar, this book is for you.

I’ve noticed there are two types of people who want to stop drinking.

There’s Tracy. Tracy wakes up every Monday morning determined that this week will be different. She pours the w**e down the sink. Deletes the alcohol delivery app. Buys three sobriety books. Listens to six podcasts. Orders alcohol-free w**e. Joins five Facebook groups.

By Wednesday she’s convinced she needs to wait until after the weekend because it’s “too stressful” right now. By Friday she’s telling herself she’ll enjoy one last night and start properly on Monday. Come Monday morning she’s wondering why nothing ever changes.

Then there’s Sarah. Sarah isn’t perfect. She still has days when she thinks about drinking. She still gets cravings sometimes. She still has moments where she wonders if she’s missing out. But every day she makes the next right choice.

She checks in with her community. She reaches out instead of reaching for a drink. She learns what triggered her. She keeps the promises she made to herself. When she has a wobble, she gets back up. When something is helping her stay sober, she doesn’t abandon it because someone on social media says there’s a quicker, easier way.

If you met them both for coffee, Tracy would probably have a brilliant new plan. She’d tell you about the latest challenge she’s starting, the newest book she’s bought, or the next Monday she’s waiting for.

Sarah would probably be talking about waking up clear-headed, sleeping better, feeling more present with her family, and making plans she actually remembers. Nothing dramatic. Just someone quietly building an alcohol-free life.

I never imagined I’d write a book about alcohol.

For decades, alcohol was simply part of my life. W**e after work. W**e with dinner. More w**e at the weekend.

I had a responsible job, a family and a busy social life. From the outside, everything looked absolutely fine.

But somewhere along the way, alcohol had changed from something I enjoyed into something I depended on.

My turning point came at 63. After a heavy drinking session with friends, I experienced a six-hour blackout. The curtain had come down. I couldn’t remember what I’d said or done, and that frightened me enough to admit something had to change.

The problem was, I had no idea how I was going to live without alcohol.

How would I relax? Socialise? Celebrate? Would life ever be fun again?

Eventually, I managed to break free and discovered something I hadn’t expected: life without alcohol wasn’t smaller. It was bigger.

I had more energy, clarity and confidence. Most importantly, I felt like myself again.

That experience led me to create Tribe Sober and spend the next decade helping others change their relationship with alcohol. Now it has led to something else.

📕 My first book: *Tribe Sober: 90 Day Reset*.

I’ve brought together what I learned from my own experience and from helping thousands of people into a practical 90-day journey.

It’s for anyone who has ever thought, “I’m not an alcoholic, but I’m not entirely happy with my drinking either.”

I’m incredibly excited (and slightly terrified!) that it’s finally becoming real. Kindle pre-orders open on 20 October.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll share more about what’s inside the book, why 90 days can be so powerful, and what I’ve learned in more than a decade alcohol-free.

But today, I just wanted to tell you why I wrote it.

Because when I was 63, frightened and wondering how on earth I was going to live without w**e, a book like this might have helped me.

I hope it helps someone else now.

Changing your relationship with alcohol can feel lonely, especially when it looks like everyone else has it figured out.

Janet Gourand knows that feeling. It’s why she built Tribe Sober, and why she wrote The Tribe Sober 90-Day Reset: to share the practical tools, encouragement and understanding she wished she’d had when she stopped drinking.

There’s no judgement here. And you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Janet’s book is coming soon to Amazon. Sign up for book updates and the pre-order link here: https://www.tribesober.com/book-launch/
