Investigative genetic genealogy is now being leveraged to identify unidentified 9/11 victims. Incredible. Hope we continue to see more applications of genetic genealogy for these unsolved cases.

An adult female was formally identified using the technique, the 1,651st victim to be formally identified.

Our baby turned 2 yesterday! Proud to co-parent The Holocaust Reunion Project with Jennifer Mendelsohn and give Holocaust survivors and their children back their family history.

Today marks the second anniversary of our launch! πŸŽ‰

We are incredibly proud of the work we are doing on behalf of survivors and their children, providing free DNA tests and genealogical consults.

DNA helps us reunite families and rebuild family trees every single day.

"When my dad wakes up in the morning, my mom said the first thing he says, 'I have cousins. I can't believe I have cousins,'" one participant recently told us.

Know a survivor or 2g? Have them apply at the link in the comments.

I caught Jax's rant before he took it down. You would think dating someone in PR would actually mean something πŸ₯΄. But in all seriousness, poor Cruz. He deserves so much better than all of this.

According to data from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, there were roughly 1.6 million Jewish children living in occupied Europe in 1939. By the end of the war, 1.5 million of them had been murdered. Only a tiny fraction survived, and for tens of thousands of those children, survival meant going into hiding.

Some were physically concealed in cramped attics, cellars, or barns. Others hid in plain sight by living under assumed names, practicing different religions, and taking on forged identities to escape N**i persecution.

When the war ended, many hidden children grew up with unknown parentage, missing records, or a total loss of their original family trees. Because some were hidden as infants or toddlers, generations often passed before descendants even learned of their family's Jewish history, a discovery frequently uncovered by a consumer DNA test.

At the Holocaust Reunion Project, we specialize in solving these exact kinds of intricate cases. We combine advanced genetic genealogy with expert archival research to help survivors and their children trace unknown parentage, untangle hidden histories, and find living relatives.

Kris Jennier has announced her mother, M.J., has passed away at the age of 91. I've always loved this yearbook photo and the accompanying entry from the Class of 1952. May she rest in peace.

We are pleased to announce that the Holocaust Reunion Project has now distributed over 1,800 free DNA tests to Holocaust survivors and their children (2G).

This represents 1,800+ unique opportunities for reconnecting families and illuminating family history lost to genocide. Each test can make vital connections for the families of Holocaust survivors as we race against the clock to enable reunions. Our mission is to harness the power of commercial DNA testing, combined with expert genealogical research, to help Holocaust survivors and their children find living relatives and restore lost family history. Every single kit we send out gets us closer to that goal.

If you are a survivor or a child of a survivor (2G) and have not yet been tested, we invite you to take this step with us and apply through our program.

Happy 4th of July πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ! In his famous letter to the congregation at Touro Synagogue in Newport, RI, George Washington wrote, "the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance, requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens in giving it on all occasions their effectual support." Jews helped found the U.S. and have shaped its history for the past 250 years. Scroll to the end to see a most important milestone in how Jews have shaped American history.
