I just came across this really informative article from Bon Appétit Magazine about my current obsession: h**p seeds! Published a year ago but still very relevant!

H**p seeds are considered one of the most valuable plant-based proteins out there. Here's what you need to know about how to eat them.

I love bathrooms (probably not surprising) and when I saw this awesome print at a street fair I had to have it. I finally got around to hanging it up this weekend and am so happy with it! It's from Real Weird Art and is created on a Samsung Note phone! How cool is that?

Late post today about something you can use to start your day tomorrow!

I've been exploring Matcha recently. It's a very finely ground powder made from green tea leaves and it packs oodles of health benefits. It's trendy, but for good reason. This jar is from MatchaBar which has two locations in NYC but also sells their products online!

You can do a lot with it, but I really like it just mixed with water over ice and a little simple syrup or agave. Come winter, I'm sure that will change to hot water.

We're almost done with Hump Day you guys! Here are two snacks I've been into recently:

These green bean snacks from Trader Joe's get an A+ from me. They're really delicious and don't make you feel like you're eating greasy chips (because you're not...).

I first heard about Sweet'tauk lemonade months ago and haven't been able to find it until recently at Whole Foods! It has wayyy less sugar than regular lemonade, tastes delicious and is free of any icky add-ins.

This has been my favorite power fuel smoothie recently- I've been making it almost every day. I love using coconut water as a base because it's a great source of electrolytes and potassium and the h**p seeds provide 10g of protein/ two tablespoons!

[Harvest Bay coconut water, 2 tablespoons Manitoba Harvest H**p Foods h**p hearts, cinnamon, vanilla extract, Peanut Butter & Co. Smooth Operator peanut butter, banana and some ice. Blended in a NutriBullet aka my BFF.]

Happy Monday! This week is not actually a well known "Nutrition Week," but it is on this page. I decided to share some foods/meals I've discovered with you for the next several days, and I hope you enjoy! I'll do my best with the photos, but those skills are still a work in progress :)

Smoothie: Harvest Bay coconut water, spinach, frozen mango, a few slices of fresh ginger, half of a banana and some ice if it's not cold enough for your liking! Blended in a NutriBullet.

Bread: Food for Life Baking Co. Cinnamon Raisin Sprouted Grain with a little bit of butter.

Happy 132nd birthday Dr. Burrill Bernard Crohn, one of the doctors who discovered Crohn's disease! Dr. Crohn first described Crohn's in 1932 along with colleagues Dr. Leon Ginzburg and Dr. Gordon D. Oppenheimer. His contributions to the field of gastroenterology and to the understanding of Crohn's disease are felt still to this day.
