“How to Catch the Little Moments That Build Big Love”
You know those tiny moments when your partner says, *“Hey, look at this funny thing,”* or *leans in for a quick hug?* That’s what we call a bid for connection.
Couples who stay strong aren’t perfect. They just learn to see those bids and respond with warmth instead of brushing them off.
A “bid” might sound like:
- “Look at that sunset.”
- “Can I tell you something weird that happened today?”
- “Wanna go for a walk?”
And how you respond matters. Turning *toward* (instead of *away*) says, “I see you. You matter.”
Try this tonight:
Notice one small moment where your partner reaches out - verbally or nonverbally - and make the conscious choice to respond.
Over time, those little yeses become the glue that keeps you close.
Question for you:
What’s one small way your partner bids for your attention and how do you like to respond?
