It sounds simple, but I can’t tell you how many times a day I hear, “I can’t do it,” “I don’t know how,” “I just don’t understand,” “I can’t see the answer,” “I don’t want to because it’s too hard,” and other versions of self-doubt, distrust, and fear. And we make space for all of it. “You can do hard things,” isn’t a catch phrase. It’s a pure belief that turns into internal self-talk (hello verbal working memory) and becomes a new story that autistic and ADHD kids can live into!
