Harakaty

Harakaty We are movement specialists. We use movement to address pain and mobility issues. Movement. Impact. Sustainability. Movement is the essence of our everyday lives.

When you purchase a movement program, we provide a program to a woman from a low-income community free-of-charge. Our mission is to create sustainable communities through movement. It fuels our bodies, energizes our minds, and connects us to the world around us. Any disruption to our ability to move is an impediment to our quality of life. At Harakaty, we understand the profound impact that movem

ent can have on physical and mental health. Our programs have been designed to alleviate your pain, improve your mobility, increase your strength, and release your cognitive trauma using a combination of specialized movement techniques.

Your body is an interconnected system. When one area loses mobility, stability or control, another area is forced to compensate. Over time, these compensations can lead to inefficient movement, excessive strain and recurring discomfort.

At Harakaty, we look beyond the site of pain. Through a comprehensive full-body assessment, we identify the movement dysfunctions and compensatory patterns that may be limiting your body’s ability to move efficiently.

By restoring optimal body mechanics, we help improve load distribution, enhance movement quality and build a foundation for long-term resilience.

When the body no longer has to compensate, movement becomes more fluid, efficient and sustainable.

Move with purpose. Move with confidence. Move the way your body was designed to.

Are you dealing with persistent tightness on one side of your lower back? It’s often not just “tight muscles”, it’s an overworked Quadratus Lumborum (QL).

The QL stabilises your spine and connects your ribs to your pelvis. But when your body can’t distribute load efficiently, it steps in and does more than it should.

Over time, this leads to:
• Persistent one-sided lower back pain
• Stiffness that keeps coming back
• Limited spinal mobility
• Hip and pelvic imbalance
• Increased strain through the lumbar spine

QL overactivity is driven by dysfunctional movement patterns, including poor load transfer, weak or underactive glutes and core and instability starting from the feet upward.

At Harakaty, we don’t chase symptoms, we identify and address the underlying drivers. Through a comprehensive full body assessment, from the feet to the cervical spine, we determine what is contributing to QL over activity.

We then correct dysfunctional movement patterns to restore efficient load distribution and reduce lumbar strain, allowing the body to move the way it is designed to, without compensation, overload or constant strain.

Real power begins with controlled movement. Because every strong, explosive or efficient movement is built on the ability to own the position first, then release power through it.

Control builds stability, refines coordination and allows every joint and muscle to work in sync rather than against each other.

When the body can stabilize, align and coordinate under load or motion, strength becomes usable. Without it, power is lost through compensation, imbalance and inefficiency.

Control is the foundation of power!

Breathing is the engine of movement.

Each inhale delivers oxygen into the lungs, where it enters the bloodstream and fuels cellular energy production. Each exhale removes carbon dioxide, maintaining the internal balance required for efficient function under load.

When breathing is coordinated and effective, oxygen delivery improves, muscle efficiency increases and the body sustains movement with greater control and less tension.

Breathing is the foundation that drives every contraction, every step and every action.

The IT band doesn’t operate in isolation. It’s part of a larger movement system where force is constantly being transferred between the hips, knees, ankles and spine. When that system loses efficiency, whether from weak hip stabilizers, limited ankle mobility, reduced spinal rotation or protective movement strategies, the load gets redistributed. And the IT band often becomes the tissue absorbing that excess force.

Positioned along the outer thigh, the IT band sits at the intersection of hip control, lower-limb mechanics and trunk alignment. It doesn’t “tighten” on its own. It responds to how well (or poorly) the body is managing movement above and below it.

When load-sharing breaks down, compensation takes over. When movement is repetitive or constrained, the tissue adapts to meet demand. Over time, that adaptation can present as irritation or discomfort. This is why isolating the IT band with stretching alone rarely changes the pattern driving the issue.

Real change happens when the system is restored as a whole: when the hips generate and control force effectively, the ankles move freely through range, the spine rotates and stabilizes as needed and movement shifts from protective to coordinated and efficient.

Rebuild the system and the IT band no longer has to compensate. It simply does its job within a body that works as one integrated unit.
