Quick Planning Tip - An accident or illness wont check your age and planning a funeral is just one peace to the puzzle. Lets forget about funerals, burials, cremations etc for a bit.

1. Does your family know the food your pet eats?

2. Does your family know the allergies your pet has?

3. Does your family know your social media accounts and passwords?

4. Does your family know your account numbers for the Water Department and Electric Company?

5. Does your family know who to contact at your job's human resource department?

6. Does your family know where you keep the title to your car or your spare keys?

7. Does your family know your accountant and any tax related details that require attention?

We always try to plan for the big things but we forget the small details. The small details are what people scramble for when they need it most. Whats one thing about your daily life your family would have no idea about?

Time.

We spend so much of our lives chasing more of it.

More time with our children.
More time with our parents.
More time to say the things we meant to say.
More time to do the things we’ve been putting off.

The truth is, time is the one thing none of us can earn back. It doesn’t matter how much money we have or how successful we become—every day is a gift that eventually runs out.

Maybe today is a reminder to make the phone call. Visit a loved one. Start the conversation you’ve been avoiding. Or simply tell someone how much they mean to you.

And while we can’t control how much time we have, we can make the most of it by preparing for the future. A little planning today can spare the people we love from unnecessary stress tomorrow.

Time is our most valuable commodity. Spend it wisely, and never take it for granted.

Quick estate planning tip: your Power of Attorney stops working the moment you pass away.

A lot of people don’t realize this! Your POA lets someone act on your behalf while you’re alive — pay bills, make decisions, handle your affairs. But once you’re gone? That authority disappears instantly. Your named agent can’t do anything else with it.

So who takes over? That’s where your will comes in — it names an executor to handle your estate. No will? The court steps in to appoint someone.

Who makes decisions regarding your funeral service/ disposition? The legal next of kin, whoever that may be.

Bottom line: a POA is not a substitute for a will. You really need both
