We are so proud to celebrate these incredible accomplishments! Both Dr. Melinda Acevedo and Dr. Nicole Donahue are graduates of the Regis Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program, where they earned their DNPs in Nursing Education.

Dr. Melinda Acevedo completed her DNP project, “Faculty Perspectives on Clinical Preparedness and Remediation in Nursing Education.”

Dr. Nicole Donahue completed her DNP project, “Utilizing an Obstetrics Skills Day as an Educational Intervention to Improve Undergraduate Nursing Students’ Confidence Levels.”

four of our SON summer scholars showcased their research projects at the 2026 Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity! Over the course of the summer, these students engaged in the full scientific process—from formulating novel research questions to analyzing complex data. Their efforts help expand scientific understanding and address real-world gaps in healthcare knowledge. We are so proud of their dedication to pushing the boundaries of nursing science!

Our faculty continue to make waves across the global nursing community! 🌍

At this year’s Sigma 37th International Nursing Research Congress in Toronto, Canada, three of our outstanding faculty members shared their expertise with colleagues from around the world.

Dr. Jennifer Graber led the pre-conference workshop, “Global Leaders Forum: Chapters Lead Together,” focusing on strengthening chapter collaboration across international borders. Meanwhile, Dr. Saylor delivered an insightful session on "Factors Affecting Maternal Quality of Life During the Transition of Youth with Type I Diabetes”, and Dr. Ji showcased groundbreaking research on “Co-creating an AI sleep coaching chatbot prototype for adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.”

Seven UDSON rising seniors spent their summer at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), completing an incredible 10-week Nurse Externship!

Throughout the summer, these students gained invaluable hands-on pediatric nursing experience, strengthened their clinical skills, and worked alongside exceptional healthcare teams while caring for children and their families.

We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the nursing profession. Congratulations on completing this amazing milestone—we can't wait to see the compassionate, skilled nurses each of you will become!

Calling all future nurse-midwives! There is only one week left to apply for the very first cohort of Nurse-Midwifery students at the FIRST and ONLY Nurse-Midwife Program in the state of Delaware! Applications are due July 15, 2026.

Please meet this precious baby born to one of our staff members under the care of a midwife at one of our local partners. We can’t wait to see how our future nurse-midwives serve the mothers, babies, and families in Delaware and beyond.
