July is Disability Pride Month, and we celebrated yesterday at Hidden Creek Park West with Hillsboro Parks & Rec's Disability Pride Party! The community gathered around a plushie tent, sensory kits, face painting, root beer floats, popsicles, and a showstopping performance from Inspire Oregon Dream Team. Throughout the month, we teamed up with incredible partners to bring safe, inclusive events to life. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made it all happen:
The Connection Club
Autism Society of America
Club Everyone, Me, and U
The Arc Portland Metro Programs
Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI)
Bird Alliance of Oregon
PIE
Kangaroo Care

We'd also like to recognize the team members who represented us:

Our sensory-friendly day at OMSI was full of discovery β the group dove into hands-on exhibits, took in planetarium shows, and struck up new friendships. Sensory kits and parking assistance kept the outing relaxed and accessible for all.
We also hit the trails at Powell Butte Nature Park and the Smith & Bybee Wetlands for guided bird hikes, scavenger hunts, and picnic lunches led by Iris in partnership with the Bird Alliance of Oregon. We spent two wonderful days spent spotting local wildlife and soaking in the outdoors together.
Dinner and a Movie Night at Taborspace brought the group together for a showing of Super Mario Galaxy, crafts, coloring, Legos, and a cozy sensory nook. It was a warm, unhurried evening filled with good food, a great film, and plenty of laughs.
Lego Night in Portland sparked creativity as everyone built their own project to take home and keep! A quiet corner with comfy chairs and weighted plushies offered a peaceful retreat for anyone needing a moment to recharge.
Taco Tuesday drew a packed house! The energy was high as everyone loaded up their plates with all the fixings and settled in for lively conversation and hearty laughs around the table.
Art & Legos in the Park was a sun-soaked afternoon brimming with lunch, face painting, Legos, bubbles, popsicles, and plenty of splashing in the splash pad β the perfect blend of creativity and outdoor adventure!
Sensory-Friendly Karaoke Night took a creative turn and doubled as an art night, with snacks and drinks keeping the energy up as the group sang their hearts out, made art, and bonded over shared laughs.
