November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

What are the early signs of pancreatic cancer? Ongoing abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, and changes in digestion are easy to brush off, which is a big reason pancreatic cancer is so often found late.

If something feels off, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Start by knowing your family history of pancreatic cancer, pay attention to symptoms that don’t go away, and talk to a digestive health specialist if something doesn’t feel right.

Digestive Care Center can help you get answers early, whether that means peace of mind or a next step. Call 812-477-6103.

We’ve all heard the myth: swallow a piece of gum, and it sits in your stomach for seven years. But is that true?

While your body can’t fully digest the gum base (similar to raw corn kernels or popcorn seeds), it doesn't stick to your stomach wall or linger around for years. Your digestive system simply moves it along the normal path, and it exits in your stool within a couple of days.

So, to answer the question, gum won't stay in your stomach for 7 years. It will pass like normal!

Got real gut questions? Skip the internet myths and talk to the local experts. Call our team at 812-477-6103.
