Low back pain is about more than just your back. 🧠
A large study following more than 140,000 people found that lifestyle factors play a major role in the risk of developing low back pain over time.
Among the biggest contributors were prolonged sitting, poor sleep, smoking, low physical activity, and higher body weight.
On the other hand, healthier lifestyle habits were linked to a lower risk of low back pain. 💪
This is why treatment should go beyond simple stretching or adjustments. Sleep, movement, exercise, stress, and daily habits can all impact how your body feels and functions.

Does lifting with low back pain mean your muscles are “working wrong”? 🤔
Not necessarily.
A recent study found that trunk muscle activity during lifting was very similar in people with and without a history of low back pain.
What does this mean? Low back pain is often more complex than just “weak muscles” or “bad lifting mechanics.” Factors like mobility, endurance, recovery, and stress can all play a role.
That’s why treatment should focus on the whole person, not just one movement. 💪
