People need to pick a side.
Either be a therapist and get the proper training and licensure, or be a coach.
You can’t be both within the coaching space.
The latest trend in the coaching world is deeply disturbing: companies are now selling “Neuroscience Coach” and “Neuropsychology Coach” certifications in as little as 20 days — with no prerequisites, no clinical training, and no real accountability.
For context, here is how Harvard describes the actual discipline of neuroscience in its PhD program:
“The discipline of neuroscience is defined by the quest to understand the most complex biological system in existence, the nervous system. Neuroscience demands its practitioners be able to draw from, synthesize, and advance the knowledge and experimental approaches born from fields spanning genetics, molecular and cellular biology, and biochemistry to physics, computer science, and engineering. It is increasingly clear that the next generation of neuroscientists needs to be broadly fluent in all of these areas, as well as rigorously trained in experimental design, statistical methodologies, and advanced quantitative reasoning.”
That is real neuroscience.
Selling 20-day online certificates that promise coaches they can work with brain systems, cognitive recovery, assessments, and interventions is not coaching. It borders on malpractice.
At TayloredPath, we refuse to blur these lines. We operate from a clear, person-centered framework with firm professional boundaries. We are coaches — not unlicensed therapists playing with brain science.
If you’re a coach who respects scope of practice and wants to do this work with integrity, we’d love to have you.
If you’re a client looking for real support without the confusion and risk, we’re here.
Pick a side. Stay in your own lane.
