We’re honored to be a sponsor of another opportunity to next week – the ADA Anniversary Celebration on July 29 at CT State Three Rivers in Norwich.

Hosted in partnership with CTDOT, WTS Connecticut, ITE Connecticut, and the UConn T2 Center, this interactive event moves beyond the classroom to show how accessibility improvements are taking shape in our communities. Hear from state and local leaders about efforts to create more inclusive infrastructure, and explore pedestrian facilities such as curb ramps and sidewalks firsthand to gain insight into the everyday barriers faced by people with disabilities.

WFSB recently reported on distressing incidents of rideshare drivers – Lyft, in this case – turning away passengers traveling with service animals. Service animals are essential for many people with disabilities, and the ADA requires that they be allowed in public spaces, which includes public transportation, taxis, and rideshare cars. Check out the article here: https://tinyurl.com/479eskrm

If you’re interested in gaining a better understanding of the rights of people with service animals, the Northeast ADA Center will be offering a free webinar, ‘Is That a Service Animal?’ on Tuesday, March 3, at 1 pm. Learn more and register at https://tinyurl.com/yv7ttmvj
