For me, your doula: feeding, soothing, baby snuggles, sometimes cleaning bottles or folding laundry, sometimes pet snuggles, sometimes nocturnal doula busywork

It's been a busy few weeks for this doula! And I am feeling a lot like Mary Poppins these days-- showing up, doing the work, then p**f, I'm outta there! (To go get some rest and do it all again the next day 😉)

I am officially in *nocturnal mode*, back to supporting postpartum families overnight through the summer 🫶 (plus more births, childbirth education, and newborn care classes on the horizon).

You'll be seeing this redhead around Wentworth-Douglass Hospital more often! I am officially an affiliate doula at one of the largest birthing hospitals in southern NH! 🥳🙌

The process was certainly one of patience and trust in the system, like most things doula related 😉 But I am so proud to be a part of the WDH affiliate doula program and so eager to support more families through a collaborative hospital setting! 🌈🌹👩‍🍼

Have you ever put something out into the universe in a state of desperation, only to be met with an overwhelming reassurance that you are doing exactly what you are meant to be doing right now? 🤌

This past week I,
-- Wrapped up care with 2 thriving postpartum families (one of which was a beloved returning client💝)
-- Attended my first birth since 2024 and got to support an unbelievably strong mama birth unmedicated in hospital 🔥
-- Heard from my very first doula client that they are expecting baby number 3 and want to lock down my overnight services again 🥰
-- Connected with a summer overnight client who is eager to get some sleep after baby arrives 💐

I love what I do, and I love knowing that what I do makes a difference 🫶

Here I am, still doula-ing behind the scenes, networking with parents & other Perinatal professionals, and trying to find some balance in these crazy times! (aren't we all, right?!)

May was a bit of a doozy, but we made it🌻

Postpartum overnights, postpartum day shifts, perinatal yoga, community networking, spring cleaning, the emotional roller coaster of our rainy season, trying to balance sleep & quality time & home life 😵‍💫

I recently said a bittersweet goodbye to a long-term family, and they gifted me these beautiful Dahlias with layers of meaning 💗 so grateful to work with families that become friends

I'm very delayed in reposting/sharing (I've been a partner since 2023), but I wanted to give this a dedicated place on my page!

If you don't know about the Affirming Spaces Project, please go check them out! They have put together a directory of businesses around MA, VT & NH that are welcoming, safe spaces for folks in the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, they provide some invaluable services to those business partners, helping them educate employees and modify documents/business materials to ensure all folks feel welcome and safe!

Rainbow Rose Doula Services believes that every birthing and postpartum person should have access to respectful, trauma-informed care and evidence-based information. 🌈🌹👩‍🍼
