Every time I think of Starseed Kitchen on the shelves at I light up.
In 2005 I started shopping at a little health food store in West Hollywood called Erewhon. There was only 1 location. Tons of great hippy products. I loved it. I would go ever week, spend hours looking at packaging, ingredients and dreaming of how I could create a healthy food product to share with others.
In 2015 I left my corporate job, my career, my only means of income, cashed out my 401K and went to the hippiest culinary school in the country in NYC, the while still with the dream of having my own product.
In 2019 I was still searching for the idea of what the product could be, when my brother said to me, ‘you’re already making it.’
That product was our family spice blends that I was sharing with my personal chef clients. What you now know as Starseed Kitchen organic spices. The product had been with me since 1998, my junior year of high school. My dad started making blends and teaching me how to use them on chicken, steak and veggies. We would cook with the spices in my grandma’s cast iron skillet. 30 years later, I’m still cooking with those blends.
A labor of love but totally worth it to help you enjoy healthy flavorful meals at home.
