Veneers can create a beautiful smile transformation — but they should never be something you regret. ✨

With “veneer regret” becoming a bigger conversation online, more patients are asking an important question: **How can I improve my smile while still protecting my natural teeth and long-term oral health?**

At The Center for Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry in Newport Beach, Dr. Desiree Yazdan believes cosmetic dentistry should be personalized, thoughtful, and conservative whenever possible. That means considering your tooth shape, bite, gum health, facial balance, and smile goals before recommending treatment.

For some patients, porcelain veneers may be the right choice. For others, options like whitening, Invisalign, bonding, enamel contouring, or ICON white spot treatment may create a beautiful result with a more conservative approach.

A confident smile should be designed around you — not a trend.

A front tooth replacement should look so natural that no one can tell it is there. ✨

When it comes to **front tooth implant crowns**, the details matter. Because the front teeth are one of the most visible parts of your smile, the crown needs to blend beautifully with the surrounding teeth in color, shape, size, translucency, and gumline appearance.

At The Center for Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry in Newport Beach, Dr. Desiree Yazdan takes a personalized approach to implant crown restorations, carefully considering both function and aesthetics to create results that look natural and feel comfortable.

Whether you are missing a front tooth, replacing an older implant crown, or exploring your options for dental implants, careful planning can make all the difference in your final smile.

Have you noticed small, dark spaces between your teeth after Invisalign? These spaces, often called **“black triangles,”** are more common than you might think.

Black triangles can become visible after the teeth are straightened due to tooth shape, gum recession, bone levels, or spaces that were previously hidden by crowding. The good news is that cosmetic treatments such as dental bonding, Invisalign refinements, or porcelain veneers may help create a more balanced and complete-looking smile.

At The Center for Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry in Newport Beach, Dr. Desiree Yazdan carefully evaluates your teeth and gum health to determine the best solution for your unique smile.

Your Invisalign treatment may be finished—but the final details of your smile can still be improved. ✨

The biggest myth in dentistry is…

That if one front tooth bothers you, you have to do veneers on both front teeth for it to look natural and blend seamlessly.

Well… here’s proof that isn’t always true.

This patient had old composite bonding she disliked because it looked bulky, unnatural, and had stained over time. She became increasingly insecure about her smile and often tried to hide this tooth.

Instead of treating multiple teeth, we replaced the bonding with just one porcelain veneer.

And the result speaks for itself.

This is a retracted close-up view so you can see every detail—and it’s about as close to nature as dentistry can get.

One front tooth was made by nature.
One was made by hand.

And they look like twins.

That’s the beauty of cosmetic dentistry done with precision, artistry, and restraint—sometimes less really is more.

If you have a front tooth that bugs you, we can help. Check out the links in my bio!

As a dentist, I see how often people try to mask bad breath without addressing what’s actually causing it.

And the truth is… bad breath can quietly affect confidence more than people realize. I’ve seen patients hold back their smile, cover their mouth when they laugh, or constantly reach for gum and mints throughout the day.

Fresh breath isn’t just about masking odor temporarily — confidence starts at the source. The NEW Clean Breath Toothpaste helps neutralize the bacteria that cause bad breath for long-lasting fresh breath and confidence you can actually feel. Pick it up !

One thing I always tell brides… don’t wait until right before your wedding to start your smile makeover 🤍

We get so many patients coming in weeks before their big day wanting Invisalign or cosmetic dentistry done, and while we can absolutely improve a smile quickly, giving yourself more time always leads to the best results.

Your wedding photos and videos last forever. You deserve to walk into that day feeling confident, beautiful, and like the very best version of yourself — especially when you smile. ✨

Whether it’s Invisalign, whitening, veneers, or simply refreshing your smile, planning ahead makes such a difference. Your smile is one of the first things people notice… and more importantly, how YOU feel when you smile matters most. 💍

The best accessory you can wear is confidence in your smile.

This fabulous patient wasn’t thrilled about his teeth — he had composite bonding on his lateral incisors that looked unnatural and had become discolored over time. He also felt like his front 4 teeth projected too far forward, and ultimately, he just wanted a smile that felt like him.

We completed 4 porcelain veneers to enhance his smile while keeping everything incredibly natural. The shape, size, color, and proportions are all balanced beautifully. If you never saw the before photo, you’d probably never know he had dental work done at all — and honestly, that’s exactly the goal.

The best part? At his post-op appointment he told me he’s been getting nonstop compliments, but nobody can quite figure out what changed. And the few people he did tell about the veneers said they look so natural they can barely tell.

He gave me a hug before leaving and said it was “100% worth the drive.” Moments like that remind me why I love what I do. Creating smiles that look beautiful is important — but helping someone feel more confident every time they laugh, speak, or smile is the real transformation.

There’s nothing better than hearing a patient say, “I finally feel confident smiling again.” ✨

This beautiful patient shared how life-changing her experience was — from feeling self-conscious about her smile to now loving what she sees in the mirror every day. She talked about how easy and comfortable the process was, how pain-free her treatment felt, and how grateful she is that she trusted us with her smile transformation.

Moments like this are why we love what we do. Creating beautiful smiles is important, but helping someone feel confident again is everything.

If you’ve been thinking about improving your smile, this is your sign that it doesn’t have to be scary or overwhelming. The right team makes all the difference.

“One of the biggest myths I hear about veneers is that they only last 10 years…”

Not true 👀

I’ve seen patients who have taken incredible care of their porcelain veneers and still have beautiful results 20-30+ years later ✨

The truth is — veneers are an investment in your smile, and like anything valuable, how you care for them matters.

Here’s what actually helps veneers last LONGER:

🦷 Protect your teeth from clenching & grinding
If you grind your teeth at night, your veneers are under constant pressure while you sleep. A custom nightguard can make a huge difference in protecting your smile long-term.

🪥 Don’t neglect your hygiene
A lot of people think once they get veneers or crowns they can’t get cavities anymore… but that’s a myth too. The tooth underneath still needs to stay healthy. Floss daily, brush properly, and keep up with your hygiene visits to protect both your veneers and your natural teeth.

🚫 Stop using your teeth as tools
Opening packages, biting nails, chewing ice, tearing things with your teeth… these habits can absolutely shorten the lifespan of veneers and make them more likely to chip or break.

Your veneers are meant to enhance your confidence — your smile in photos, conversations, big moments, and everyday life

And when you truly take care of them, they can take care of you for many, many years.

A beautiful smile isn’t just about getting veneers…
It’s about protecting the investment you made in yourself!
