This is a woman that I performed an upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty on (referred to as an “eyelift”. This is one of the most common surgeries I perform, usually in combination with a facelift and necklift.

Notice how much excess skin there is in her upper lids, including hooding towards the outside portion on each side. With an appropriately tapered incision towards the outside (lateral) portion of the upper eyelid, I can create the appearance of having a brow lift without actually doing one.

The lower eyelid bags are obviously a common aesthetic concern, and the key is to use an internal eyelid incision which is less invasive and leads to an easier recovery. The fat is not necessarily removed, but more importantly, repositioned so as to fill in the “hollowed out” portion of the eyelid and decrease the “puffiness” at the same time.

Of most importance, I can create a dramatic improvement, where the eyelids look more youthful and less “tired”, but I have not changed the shape of the eyes whatsoever.

Looking natural is the only thing that matters.

Because eyelid skin is approximately seven times thinner than the skin on the rest of the face, eyes are the ground zero for aging. Blepharoplasty surgery essentially removes excess skin or fat to tackle various concerns such as hollowness, slack skin or eye bags. It's one of our favorite and most sought after surgeries with extremely high satisfaction.
