Before movement can become effective, it first has to become supported.
In Pilates, that support begins at the core. Not simply as a source of strength, but as the center from which breath, stability, posture, and control are organized.
When that foundation is working effectively, movement becomes more efficient. The spine is better supported, the limbs can move with greater freedom, and the body becomes more capable of distributing effort without relying on unnecessary tension or compensation.
This is why Pilates returns to the center again and again. Core work isn’t simply about strengthening a set of muscles. It’s about teaching the body how to coordinate, respond, and move as an integrated whole.
