Your Screen Time May Be Affecting Your Eyes ππ±
Whether itβs your phone, computer, tablet, or TV, staring at a screen for long periods can leave your eyes working overtime.
Prolonged screen use can contribute to:
Eye fatigue
Dry or irritated eyes
Temporary blurry vision
Headaches
Difficulty focusing
One reason? We naturally blink less when concentrating on a screen, which can contribute to dryness and irritation.
And for children, thereβs another reason to pay attention: research has linked increased near work with childhood myopia (nearsightedness), while children who spend more time outdoors are less likely to develop myopia. Researchers are still studying exactly how screen use, near work, and outdoor time interact.
A simple habit for the whole family:
Try the 20-20-20 rule every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
Screens aren't going anywhere. But healthy screen habits can help your eyes keep up. π
