Let's get you ready for the 2026-2027 youth sports seasons — free of charge!

Free sports physicals will be offered at Newport Health Center from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 24. No appointment is necessary, but a parent or guardian must be present to provide consent. Available on a first-come, first-served basis for sports physicals only. For more information, call 509-447-3139.

Heads up, everyone! We are seeing an uptick in fraudsters calling local residents pretending to be from NHHS. Most often, they are asking for Medicare or other personal information. In some cases, they are threatening to end your Medicare or other insurance coverage if you do not respond. The scammers may use caller ID spoofing technology to make the call appear legitimate.

Remember: We will NEVER request personal information from you over the phone. If a caller says they are from NHHS but asks for your personal information, it's a scam — even if your caller ID says looks like it came from us.

PLEASE, HANG UP IMMEDIATELY IF SOMETHING DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. Report suspected Medicare Fraud by calling 1-800-633-4227, or by reporting online at https://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/report-fraud/

• Stay a safe distance away from a lit firework
