👉 Staci Hawley is a department assistant for Diabetes Management at our hospital, based at the second-floor clinics. Whenever she notices that adjacent clinics may be shorthanded, she offers to help where and how needed, and always with a positive and friendly energy. You are very much appreciated, Staci! ❤️

👉 Kristen Berholtz, described as professional, dedicated and with a team-first mindset, is our hospital's Infection Prevention program manager overseeing clinical efforts to prevent and reduce healthcare-associated infections. She also steps up to support the entire Samaritan system in these efforts, ensuring continuity and critical assistance. Kudos to you, Kristen! ❤️

Helmets for Homies! 😃 Trauma Nurse Coordinator Krysta Evans, representing our hospital's Trauma Injury Prevention Program, was at The Homie House Skate Competition in Toledo last Saturday. There, she provided 19 helmets to skaters who needed safety gear before entering the concrete bowl. Kudos to Krysta for this outreach effort!

We’re excited to share an important milestone: The Oregon Health Authority has approved Samaritan Health Services’ proposed affiliation with MultiCare Health System.

A few final legal and administrative steps remain, and we are working toward completing the affiliation this fall. This approval brings us much closer to officially beginning our partnership and bringing new investment to local healthcare.

Once complete, the affiliation will support expanded access to care, recruitment and retention of health care professionals, investments in facilities and technology, and more opportunities to bring services closer to home.

Patients can continue seeing their Samaritan providers and accessing care and services as they do today. Samaritan will remain locally led and focused on the needs of the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon Coast.

Although National Cancer Survivors Day was celebrated in June, the strength, resilience and hope of cancer survivors deserve recognition all year long.

We're taking a moment to look back at the special celebrations held in Corvallis and Newport, where survivors, loved ones, caregivers and care teams came together to honor every cancer journey and the power of community.

Since opening in August 2016, Sarah’s Place has cared for more than 2,346 patients throughout the region who experienced sexual assault, domestic violence and non-fatal strangulation.

Our skulls and brains need to be protected during potential high-impact activities like biking and skateboarding. 🚲 🛹
That's why our coastal hospitals' Trauma Injury Prevention Program participated in National Night Out community gatherings Tuesday night, providing free bike/skate helmets to children and adults.
