Not all eating disorder treatment programs offer the same level of specialized support.

Hidden River Eating Disorder Treatment believes that individualized care means meeting patients where they are and addressing the unique medical, developmental, and life-stage needs that can impact recovery. That's why they’ve expanded their clinical capabilities to include specialized support such as NG tube insertion and removal, care for individuals living with Type 1 diabetes, and a dedicated program designed specifically for adults ages 21 and older.

Their residential treatment center serves girls, young women, and mid-life adult women (ages 8+) through a truly integrated, interdisciplinary approach. Medical and psychiatric care, nutritional rehabilitation, evidence-based psychotherapy, and family involvement come together to create personalized treatment plans that support lasting healing.

Diana shares her journey into IFS, explains core concepts such as parts and self-energy, and discusses why eating disorder symptoms often make more sense when viewed as adaptations rather than pathology.

Together, Monika and Diana explore how IFS can help clinicians understand internal conflict, reduce shame, build self-compassion, and create space for more sustainable healing.

Eating disorders affect people of all genders and sexualities, yet LGBTQ+ individuals often face increased risk due to stigma, discrimination, and barriers to care.

According to The Trevor Project, nearly 9 in 10 LGBTQ+ youth report body dissatisfaction, and LGBTQ+ youth experience significantly higher rates of eating disorders than their heterosexual and cisgender peers.
