Our Sales Team is inviting people from different cultures and backgrounds for conversations on what they are looking for in a senior living community. Residents often note how warm and welcoming the culture is here, and this will help us learn how to make it even more inclusive! Recently, residents on the Marketing Advisory Committee joined team members to learn about Indian culture. Sohini Chowdhury, whose son Aavi Sircar, a talented pianist, has performed here, introduced us to her son Aayu and parents Aurobindo and Bratati Chowdhury from India. We had a great discussion about ways we could make this a comfortable environment for seniors from an Indian background. We appreciate the time they took to share insights!

You can learn a new skill at any stage in life. Participants in a recent workshop, put on by The Clay Studio from Philadelphia, learned how to create their own pottery. Then their pieces were taken off-site to be fired in a kiln and preserved as mementos!

We have often enjoyed the music of the Chester Children’s Chorus over the years, so we were excited to have Skyy Brooks, an alumna of the chorus, here to perform a repertoire of jazz classics. Sky recently graduated from Harvard and will now study at the Berklee School of Music!

It's great when you can bring a personal tour guide along on trips! White Horse Village resident Cathy Siegl has been a certified guide for Philadelphia's Independence National Historical Park for more than 20 years, and she generously shared her knowledge with a group of her neighbors from our community on a recent tour.

A sunny Saturday in June is a great time for a relaxing flower garden tour! Residents enjoy cultivating their own little piece of paradise in their yards, and are happy to welcome visitors each year for Garden Day. Guests get a taste of what life here is like and the beauty of campus, and enjoy a delicious lunch afterward.

Happy Juneteenth! Today is a special time to remember June 19, 1865, the date when news of emancipation reached enslaved people in the deepest parts of the former Confederacy. Let's celebrate this anniversary, while remembering the difficult journey toward civil rights since that day.
